thx

Sounds good Jack.
This sounds really interesting! I really hated balancing my channels. Really hope Arc will work, but this needs to be decided by way more clever guys than me. 😁
Finally someone is thinking about the UX! I’m already on board
Go go go, we need more development on layer 2.
It sounds interesting. Liquidity management is something that the vast majority of people will never do. Any solution that helps to alleviate that pain point is worth exploring.
A second layer protocol without the pain points of liquidity management 👀
Pretty wild coming from a self professed former big blocker.
Sounds interesting 👀
This is neither a replacement for Lightning, nor for cashu/fedi schemes. It's a 3rd "thing".
This seems cool.
Where does the liquidity come from? Are the ASP decentralized?
I wrote quick, likely wrong, analysis here https://stacker.news/items/181561
I love the name Ark and his reasoning behind selecting that name.🌊🫂💜🧡
“Now back to Ark, I named it Ark because it resonated with Noah’s Ark to save plebs from chainalaysis companies and custodians. Self-custodial Lightning doesn’t work for obvious reasons, and chainalaysis companies significantly threaten user privacy.”
When I first saw the name I was immediately reminded of all those Twitter Bitcoin Ark Memes that used to float around.

I could never keep up with all the chaos in this ecosystem even if I was informed.
Just want to occupy my happy place in a corner doing what I do best.
🤔
He eloquently put the subconscious frictions I felt with Lightning into words.
From the way the article reads there will be one centralized server holding liquidity and processing transactions.
Surely that can't be the plan...
It's also not clear to me how this server will ensure anonymity to users.
Looking forward to learning more about this. I always expected to see competition on L2 and I welcome it 🙏

Even if this specific solution doesn't work, I think it's great to see the North Star of "we need and want something like this"
This sounds really good. Even if Ark isn't the solution, his criticisms of Lightning are solid. Lightning can't possibly be the apex L2.
Prepare to be Drivepilled.
I think I already am. At any rate Sztorc's analysis of the fee market is pretty convincing
It’s important we have alternatives
like if i just handed you a bunch of papers in person? that's off-chain. it allows me to make multi-layer "payments" too. lmfao.
E.g. https://offline.cash/?
There is most certainly room for improvement in regards to Lightning. It should be as easy as Apply Pay. I’m confident we will get there soon.💳📲⚡️🧡💜
zkCSV provides far better privacy (no mixing, just ZKP) and frees up block space significantly. TXs are 15x smaller than normal, just needs a UASF.
Ark and Enigma are the most exciting ideas in bitcoin right now.
Yes, what is Enigma?
This is amazing
When CTV?
The only downside is the insane capital liquidity requirement for the ASP.
I'd guess there will be a huge capital fee per round.
Consider this, in Wasabi 2.0 we currently have a remix rate of ~50, meaning that every 1 btc that freshly enters the coinjoin, does on average 50 consecutive rounds.
The ASP has to provide liquidity for every round, not just for a fresh input. So, in our example, the ASP needs 50 btc liquidity for that one user even though he only has 1 btc.
