Last night I watched A Fistful of Dollars (1964) for the first time.

I never used to be into westerns—maybe with one or two exceptions I saw as a kid, though I can’t remember their names. (One of them was a funny one where a guy drank onion juice and somehow became sharper and stronger—anyone remember that?)

But lately, westerns are growing on me. I really dig the accents, the way they speak, and their outfits.

That said, A Fistful of Dollars was an enjoyable watch. It had its flaws—some moments didn’t quite suspend disbelief—but overall, it was solid. Even rewatchable. I’d give it a 7 outta 10.

Looking forward to diving into the rest of the trilogy: For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Man, if you've never played New Vegas, I would go that route.

This should be known about me, so you know who you are dealing with.

I decided to get vaccinated during COVID.

Twice.

Initially I was very hesitant and against it.

After significant social pressure and emotionally blackmail I decided to brake with these principles. Not out of fear but to 'take responsibility' as I thought at the time was no big deal.

I was wrong and I regret this immensely. For what its worth I never advocated to take the shot to others.

So yes, I am a coward and can not be trusted. Because I bend under pressure.

I used to be hypercritical and judgmental of myself.

“That’s just the way I am” I would say.

But then I realized: it wasn’t my voice at all. It was my father’s—echoing through the corridors of my mind, long after he had passed away.

When I realized that I began to reframe the way I would speak to myself.

Now I speak to myself the way I speak to my children. With love and grace and understanding.

And not surprisingly it makes it easier to be non-judgmental towards others.

I’m raising my children to meet the world they’re going to encounter in thirty years.

I’m not raising them based on the world I grew up in 30 years ago.

I see many parents get this wrong.
