Perseids meteor shower associated with comet Swift–Tuttle. By far the largest NEO to cross Earth's orbit and make repeated close approaches. "the single most dangerous object known to humanity" Enjoy the Perseids on Aug 12-13.
As our demographics change due to birth rates having fallen below replacement levels (2.1) for decades, we will require a tripling of productivity for young workers to provide for the needs of the aging population. Automation with AI assisted tooling will be essential. I expect AI personal assistants to become prolific. This begins with taking small AI models that can be self-hosted by anyone affordably and being able to fine-tuning on private and proprietary data. Corporate policies, procedures, designs, and other internal documents are the place to start, so that enterprises can encode their expertise into AI assistants to aid their staff to bring about this 3X productivity improvement over the next decade. Then, beyond the generic enterprise baseline improvement, we can look to personalize AI into life-coaching and memory aids for the aging population.

Nostr becomes the base layer for decentralized market for digital services. Clients make requests across their social network, and providers negotiate to fulfill like an auction. Transactions are paid on Lightning. This becomes the future ecosystem for digital services that are decoupled from fiat money, government regulated banking/payments, KYC/AML, censorship, and advertiser corrupted content moderation.
The protocol becomes the important prize. The social networking for human interactions almost falls by the wayside as an ancient demonstrator that has long ceded the spotlight to a rich landscape of decentralized digital services with a diversity that touches every problem domain, as people want to build things that are immune from debilitating attack (legal, political, hacking). Being unstoppable, ungovernable, and resilient will become table stakes for future services.
State actors and their supporters oppose platforms that cannot be controlled to surveil, comply with search warrants and legal rulings, and censor according to legislation and regulations. The EU DSA is an example. They may influence mobile platforms, whereby the app store is controlled by a central authority, to ban Nostr clients on the basis of regulatory non-compliance.

IMHO, nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft 's data vending machine concept has the potential to transform how data is used and interacted with on the internet. It’s like sci-fi levels of data interaction between both people and AI.
If you already know this, be patient with me. I’m just getting it.

I don't know what this concept of DVM is yet, but it sounds intriguing.
My first Fountain clip in so long I’m not even totally sure it worked 😂
AI Unchained is a great show, and I’m loving this chat with Dhruv Bansal. Just like Bansal’s Bitcoin Astronomy series did, it’s bringing me back to when I read and talked about Eliezer Yudkowsky (who he mentions), mostly back in college. I don’t remember Yudkowsky being a pure AI doomer like Bansal implies; curious to dip my toe back in and see if he’s changed.
Anyway, this whole conversation is great, but this clip especially resonated (35:30-40:55 in case it didn’t work):

Yudkowski has been the loudest AI doomer out there. He has called for air strikes on data centers.
Intermittent fasting (time restricted eating) cures diabetes type 2. That means skipping breakfast and only eating lunch and dinner.
I wish I could zap a tweet with a variable amount of sats, so that I can reward creators proportional to the value of the content. A fixed default amount isn't always appropriate.
If you're going to spam my note, the proper Nostr etiquette is to zap me some sats.
2020-2022 was a pandemic of the fearful and fearsome.
We should embrace the mantra "diversity is our strength". Co-opt it for decentralization. Support diversity through decentralization.

Loving how Nostr has altered the landscape around paid promotion. Advertisers pay users to receive ads. Advertise to me harder!

The sand fleas in Barbados were horrific. Turned me off sand beaches for a good long time.
That's what I struggle with in regard to Keith Weiner's warnings about capital consumption. I can see how mixing human intangibles (experience, know-how, expertise) makes capital productive, so that might be it.
“If Bitcoin fixes capital, then Bitcoin truly fixes everything.” nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev another great episode!
nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev a nitpick: you read "heterogeneous" as "heterogenous", which has a different meaning altogether. The confusion led me to check the source article to confirm. Not trying to crap on you. Love your work.
When a founder or major executive sells their shares, we consider this "capital consumption". Is a transfer of ownership really "consumption"? Maybe the productivity of that capital is diminished, if the key contributor is less invested in the company or separates entirely. Any better insights you can give on the concept of capital consumption?
The source code for Nostur is now available on https://github.com/nostur-com/nostur-ios-public
It's still a bit rough and lacks documentation, if there are questions about any part of the code don't hesitate to ask.
I'm not an iPhone user, but would using the iOS developer tools be a viable method (for all iPhone users) of circumventing Apple's App Store ban on apps that monetize digital content in circumvention of Apple's 30% fee? Or too difficult for most users?
