Are their any reply people out there?
I have my own doubts as well, I generally agree with you, but what you call “civilization” may actually be a human settlement out of scale and unhealthy to the human animal. Where ancap settlements would have the freedom to disband and fracture into smaller ones. We may never see them because they don’t scale to a large measurable event. This does fundamentally mean the people in them are more vulnerable to outside aggression and servitude. I’m just also not convinced the scale of human settlements are right a
Nd it might be a trap to define success as one which reaches that size.
nostr:npub1n0sturny6w9zn2wwexju3m6asu7zh7jnv2jt2kx6tlmfhs7thq0qnflahe think you could squeeze “last seen” into the follow list. Or a particular UI pane just for curating who I follow with some stats or views to help make that decision.

I had an idea for a sci-fi story where it there was the a last day of rain on earth and no one knew why. But my dead end was that I couldn’t really come up with a plausible way for malevolent forces to actually control the weather. How could this plausibly be done?
Just find current paid relays and use them. 😀
You could use a web of trust relay that is only accessible from follows of follows. Like wss://wot.utxo.one
Or you could use a paid relay like wss://nostr.wine
My understanding is that primal forces you to use their relay and it’s popular so their may not be an option to change that from the app And Damus is also a very popular relay. So both of those are highly targeted right now.
You can avoid where the bots are by using relays which are a bit less permissive in who they let write to their relays like the two I highlighted above but their are other paid and WOT options. Or you can just move to relays that are less popular and so harder to target for spam.
If it helps, the spam is forcing developers to respond to it and tighten up their clients and relays. I don’t think the spam is being generated by a sovereign country but this is basically a fire drill for some malevolent agent.
Does it taste good on its own or is it just healthy?
“No sir, no fine Swiss watches and clocks”
Wish we could use zap escrow to stop #nostr #spam:
For example: Set a relay or client to only accept replies with 21 sats in escrow. If marked spam by the person they are replied to, the relay operator and/or user keep the sats. If not, they are returned to the sender.
(False reports are naturally limited as people won’t reply to people who keep falsely reporting spam)
All voluntary, no cost for non-spammers, etc
Would be better than VPN blocks, nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s
I think the relay escrow makes sense. The way I would probably do it is steeper but tie it to writing to the relay at all. Maybe 5k sats to write to it. Tie it to Auth, then if you are reported as a source of spam the relay takes your sats. To write again you have to pay more sats, or up to the relay how to handle. It’s like a paid relay but if you leave you can get some of your sats back? The challenge I think is just managing who has paid what. Who owes what, And not rugging anyone.
I ask ChatGPT for things like this:
Roasted Sweet Potato and Okra Salad with Rhubarb-Basil Vinaigrette
Ingredients:
• 1 large sweet potato, diced
• 1 cup okra, halved
• 1 cucumber, sliced
• 2-3 pimento peppers, diced
• 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
• 2 stalks rhubarb, chopped
• 2 tbsp honey
• 1 tbsp olive oil (for roasting)
• Salt and pepper to taste
For the Rhubarb-Basil Vinaigrette:
• 1/4 cup rhubarb, finely chopped
• 2 tbsp honey
• 1/4 cup olive oil
• 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
• 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
• Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Roast the Vegetables:
• Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
• Toss the diced sweet potato and halved okra with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread them on a baking sheet.
• Roast for 20-25 minutes or until tender and slightly caramelized.
2. Prepare the Salad Base:
• In a large bowl, combine the sliced cucumber and diced pimento peppers.
3. Make the Rhubarb-Basil Vinaigrette:
• In a small saucepan, add the chopped rhubarb and honey with a splash of water. Cook on low heat until the rhubarb softens (about 5 minutes).
• Let the mixture cool slightly, then blend it with the olive oil, apple cider vinegar, fresh basil, and a pinch of salt and pepper until smooth.
4. Assemble the Salad:
• Once the roasted sweet potatoes and okra are ready, add them to the bowl with the cucumbers and pimento peppers.
• Drizzle the rhubarb-basil vinaigrette over the salad and gently toss to combine.
• Garnish with extra fresh basil leaves if desired.
Serve this salad warm or at room temperature. It’s a unique blend of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors!
