I just did it too!

Whew!
To be clear I think some of his companies are doing amazing and important work. Having said that, some of his apologists thought it was funny and applauded him having fun. Problem is, the joke isn't so funny (and it hasn't been for a while) when real people end up getting hurt.
Trucks are always pricey, but this is obv exacerbated by inflation, supply chain issues, etc. The good news is they tend to hold their value a little better.
Beside the fact of course Doge is nothing more than a pump and dump shitcoin...
Ways you can tell a mature market from an immature one, responses to nothingburgers:
- Elon puts Doge logo on Twitter, Doge pumps 20%
- BTC whitepaper found hidden in millions of Apple devices, BTC remains flat.
Haha. Nice, simultaneous recommendation!
Presumably she still needs to buy groceries etc. She could use the Shakepay prepaid visa for daily purchasing - they pay a % back in BTC.
That sucks. You know I've talked to more than one person that's all about the "Web 3” and "Bitcoin is slow", and it's shocking how almost all of them have never heard of:
- Nostr
-Lightning
Sad really.
The lyrics from the song before are great too:
"The ones in power built a dream on guarantees of luxury
And sold it like it's magic to the poor
They trick you into thinking all it takes
Is just a little bit of effort once your foot is in the door
They brutalize your confidence and drain you of your energy
Until you're always tired and unsure
They make a lot of promises but keep on taking everything
So you always want more
You want more?
You want more"
The whole album this is from is pretty kick-ass, but this bit always makes me think of us defiant Bitcoiners:
"Why do we accept the hand we're given?
The dealer's grinning, she knows we're terrified of change
But we don't have to live inside a hellhole
And give our money to some f**king a**hole
We don't wanna live inside a hellhole"
Hahaha, hilarious. I love how Bitcoiners have mild sociopathic tendencies... or maybe that's just me.
Ultimately, because social media is always done in sound bite format - which is the death of nuance, the trade-off is that you occasionally have to self-censor lest your point become misconstrued.
I'm personally not really worried about being blocked, rather more concerned being harassed, trolled, or worse.
It always bothers me when people say the unemployment rate is low.
I was looking at some long term labor participation trends and I made this chart which shows how labor force participation has changed over time.
More women entered the labor force, more men left the labor force, but overall the labor force is trending down and continually going lower.
Currently labor force participation is 63% yet we are supposed to believe “unemployment rate” is 3%?
I might believe in Magic Internet Money but I don’t believe in the white-haired ones.

I'm reminded of the expression in statistics: torture the data enough and it will confess to anything.
Agreed. And speaking only for Amethyst, which is what I use, it would also be nice if there were QR support for displaying and searching npubs.
Normies when they hear about a coin besides Bitcoin:

I know, lol. That was the joke.
I zapped you, but you have to promise you convert to Doge.
