Wash-zaps have even higher effect than fake likes, because they give the impression they represent sats.

The false equivalence between sats and "public semi-valid proof of payment associated with my name" (wash-zaps) => not only can you buy clout on Nostr, but you can buy "good samaritan" clout.

Best part is: all this, without ever having to spent one sat.

What's wrong with PWAs?

Yes, publicly announce that someone is collecting donations for something.

But keep donors and amounts private, this removes perverse incentives (hype, clout, followers etc), esp. enabled by wash-zapping.

Post fundraisers are a scam.

If they're public, they can be gamed (fake fundraiser, self-zap, etc),

If they're private, they're always been possible w/o zaps.

If the goal is to send zaps, thats true.

Bro you're hyping this way out of proportion.

There are conutless way to say "thank you" with sats

- send a tip to the LN Address in the user profile

- ask the user to post a LN invoice and pay it

- "zap" the user profile

- "Silent LN tips", where by liking a note, your bot sends sats to the LN Address in the recipients profile

- etc

Removing the zap btn from a note doesn't even come close to jeopardizing this.
