One among many. Learner, builder, walker and creator of Open Librarian.

I just started reading 'The Mandibles' by Lionel Shriver and am tracking my progress on www.OpenLibrarian.com

Built a nostr client (Open Librarian) that is a book tracking/reading app. If you’d like to try it out visit www.OpenLibrarian.com 📚

Currently it is just MVP with these features:

- Find books and add to shelves

- Manage shelves (inc. hidden books)

- Manage profile

- View Friends/Foes (import from another npub)

- User profile for sharing (Library Card)

- Add interests

- Manage relays

- Login with NPUB/NSEC/Seed

For now I highly recommend spinning up a new NSEC. I’ve added the ability to import your existing friends/foes, will add cloning profiles asap.

Everything is stored client side in cache. Built using django framework, rust-nostr and on the amazing work of Open Library. Feedback and issues on the GitHub very welcome.

Very aware that I have a lot to do and the current nostr implementation I have is sub optimal. Work in progress…

Yo nostr:npub1sfhflz2msx45rfzjyf5tyj0x35pv4qtq3hh4v2jf8nhrtl79cavsl2ymqt, you recently went on MrObnoxious and made a statement that blew my mind (paraphrasing) “If you exclude London from the statistics, the UK is poorer than every state”. I repeated that I had heard this to someone else and they were asking for receipts. Can I just ask you how you got to that information as I’d be interested at understanding it more.

Cheers!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, now 40 years old, so much of the early world of computers is echoed in what we see around us here…in this space.

Continue to defy convention!!

Nah, maybe you’re not a good mark to be fair (well known and skeptical). They see a pleb like myself and maybe just roll the dice. Wonder how many hits they get from the fake Saylor “Hi there Rydal 👋” DMs

Fair enough, I guess it is just disproportionately spam on my side with impostors, hence the off the cuff response

Don’t even get me started…..absolute joke!! It is very recent, coming to a a US store near you soon no doubt

To be fair it is mostly only scammers that use dms. The one I received went straight on the mute list.

There in lies the difficult bit I think.

Maybe look around at what variety’s are native to you and then maybe have a search online for how they are different. Leaves will be different sizes/shapes possibly. Grab a couple of hops of the plant crush/rub them between your palms firmly to see how strong a scent they give off that will probably help the identification.

If they don’t have much scent maybe just use them in the main brew and finish with a dry hop of another variety. I did something similar with my hops plant a couple years ago, it was more the fact that I could say my hops were in it than that they made a massive difference to the brew (though I didn’t have much, it is a bit colder here).

If they are super strong in scent maybe dry hop with them. Also don’t forget to pick and dry them first.

100% do it. You won’t regret it. Just figure out if they are better as bittering hops or flavours hops first and pai with the other.

Echos of the past, can you hear the rhyming?

What an incredible experience! I had the absolute honor of speaking at the nostr:npub122pnqy3sxlnghaxarll4rywx2jy5d2vf2a52pdguzmdea4wlupesdpvsgz Community Event 2024. It was my first time on stage in front of such a large audience, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to share a bit about Cashu‘s cypherpunk history with you. Thank you to everyone who made this possible, and to the community for the amazing support 💜

Well done sir 👏

GM, after a week downtime why does the first full day back at work make it seem like you never had any time off?

Anyway, onwards! 🫡
