i don't like to give up and i also do a lot of dumb things out of principle... these are blessings and also character flaws at times. zappix is about 75% working. i need to re-add profile editing, comments and a few other tweaks, but im taking a break for now (and making a git commit 😉 )

I've been coding for 26 years. if I could distill my experience into one sentence it would be:

"functions and data is all you need"

don't get distracted by fancy language features. every language has functions, every language has structs. mastering programming is just composing functions and transforming data. once you master this you can program in any language.

if you focus building programs as small, pure, modular functions that operate on *only* the data it needs, then you will have a large set of functions that are highly composable. you will never have to do large rewrites of your program, because your program will compose of lego blocks that you can snap together in different ways.

This part is easy everywhere — it’s a very simple task. The real challenge usually comes with implementing AUTH. Not all relays support it yet.

next I want to add a button to every post that you can click for analysis, similar to how grok works. this is useful if you don't understand the post and want it to explain the context.

I'm pretty happy with the UI so far. now I just need to finish the lightning backend so anyone can use it anonymously + NWC pay per token.

🤔 I wonder if its possible to be psychically linked to YouTube... I woke up thinking about Jungian archetypes ; looked at my phone, and it was on a video I was listening to when I fell asleep, backed out of that video and it refreshed the recommended list, and right at the top is an hour long lecture about Jungian archetypes, a recording from some university.

He hasn't addressed the thing I was thinking about, though... Can airplanes be populated by archetypal simulants and how could I systematize their attritubes to reduce them to a set of archetypal ingredients and why would there be different sets of collective unconscious experiences to generate a different "deck of cards"... But still, the way YouTube gave me a video about what I was thinking was really... Impressive.

I’ve already discovered my least favorite part while vibe-coding: websocket. I have zero understanding of how it works.

I truly hate to see my app working flawlessly in the backend but webpages not loading partly or in full and Claude having no clue how to fix it.

And if go back a couple of commits, I will actually lose backend functionality because Claude just piles everything together.
