hey friends, how about a nostr hat? π (more info below the photo)
I really wanted to capture all the things in the design that make nostr great. I hope I nailed it.
nostr is SO MUCH MORE than just a social media feed alternative. it is the future!

This hat is:
Adult Medium/Large
Purple Heather and Cream
65% Wool 35% Alpaca blend
240,000 sats
Price includes FREE shipping. USPS First Class with tracking for US customers.
Let the world know that nostr is the future! This hat features a folded ribbed brim to fit snug on your head and warm on your ears. The hat combines the features of nostr (Notes and Other Stuff transmitted over Relays) with other iconic symbols like the ostrich, chat bubbles, zaps and even NIPs, wink wink.
The wool alpaca blend gives this hat a great balance between durability, softness and warmth using all natural materials. To care for this item, hang to air out or hand wash. Do not machine wash.
How to buy? Send me a message and I will send you a lightning invoice. Once payment is confirmed, please send me your address and I will ship your item out within 1 - 2 business days.
Outside of the US? Please message me for a shipping quote.

April Fools this year? π or make it so that you can only populate your name in emojis π
I was gonna mention it but never found a good time to bring it up π
I hardly read them. I know they're there and I see them. Then again, sometimes I hardly read the person's name and rely on their profile pic to know who I'm talking to
yeap exactly! still early days for nostr so there are way more devs and technical brains than the marketing and communications brains working in the space.
I'm very excited to see what sailboats we'll be seeing in the next few years β΅
It is really nice that nostr enables developers to get stuff out the door fast. the disconnect is that it is hard for the audience to appreciate that because some clients are so barebones they don't even say on the site what it does.
Without someone pointing out that Habla is a blogging platform and not a social media feed, I don't think I would have known that was what it was. The Get Started button doesn't tell you what you're getting started and clicking on the adorable pac-man makes him animate (which is VERY CUTE)
The funny thing about this whole encounter though is that by me reading this random comment thread, I've found a tool that I've been looking for π
very cool. curious... why is it a pair of twos?
I'm certain that I don't spend nearly as much time doing nostr things as the guy that develops Amethyst π
I just post notes, read notes, reply, zap and sell a couple hats here and there. For my use case, 1 or 2 is all I need right now.
I wouldn't tell someone who only has one pan in the kitchen that they're cooking wrong because they don't use enough specialized pans (sauce pans, fry pans, muffin pans, woks, stock pots, crock pots, and so on.) For some people, they can fulfill all their cooking needs with just one pan cuz all they want to do is sear a steak. They don't need to make soup stock or bake muffins so they don't need those things. It doesn't mean that they're doing cooking wrong.
haha sure, feel free to message me anytime. I'm always up for crafty chat π
Communities is meant to be more like a Reddit subreddit or a group on Facebook. Not all clients have it implemented that way though since each client can choose how they want to display these types of events.
I think it depends on how each clients treats these types of notes.
tbh, I'm learning about communities as I go. still learning π€
πΆ
this is how we do it
it's Friday night
and I feel alright
πΆ
buying and selling using nostr and lightning is beautiful π
so easy
so elegant
so pure
me sell, you buy. done and done.
before today, I only used one, Amethyst. It does everything I need. post notes, make marketplace listings, DMs, etc.
Since I created the knitting-and-crochet community today, I have to use another client that can moderate the community. so far, trying out Nostrudel and Satellite. Not sure if Amethyst will ever have moderation tools for communities which will let me go back to just having one client but I'm totally cool if it never does.
For every nostr "problem" there's an app. it doesn't make sense to have a singular monolithic app that does it all. (I hate that this makes me think of the marketing slogan "there's an app for that" but it makes sense)
it was on sale and I was in a sunny yellow phase. I really should have picked up green or something to go with it π
what size would that be? like 24" square?
ooh hey π I recognize those hats!
very awesome to see Amethyst on Linux π
nah man, I got my buddy Red Dragon to pose for a portrait π
haha yeah, it is definitely AI generated.
