came here to say this as well!
the Caesar salad has an actual origin story. It was created by Caesar Cardini, an Italian immigrant running a restaurant in Tijuana during Prohibition. During a rush on the 4th of July in 1924, the kitchen ran out of ingredients so the head chef put together a salad on the fly which we now know as Caesar salad.
I had to do a two spatula maneuver to flip it π
good morning π
big pancakes or small pancakes?

haha true. I do have a lot of unfinished projects but I've buried them, physically in my craft stash and mentally in my mind.
I read a post this morning of a knitting pattern designer talking about how they don't get the engagement they used to, how Instagram's algorithm is bad for small businesses, how their ads don't work and how they're not gonna let that keep them down. They're gonna keep doing what they love and nothing is gonna stand in their way of living their dream.
And that they're moving their social media marketing to Pinterest.

My knee jerk reaction is to say "nostr doesn't have pesky algorithms. you will get what you put in on nostr. there are no centralized master social feed manipulators here."
In reality, it's not a good move for them in the big picture. Their audience is not here so the money isn't here.
We are in it for the long haul before nostr hits critical mass of adoption to support all kinds of niches.
TO LIBERTY AND BEYOND
someone showed me this rap for HELLDIVERS and now it's the only thing I want to listen to.
can't tell if this is nesting or just normal me behavior of starting new projects right after one is finished.
I picked up one of those mega balls of baby acrylic at the big box craft store yesterday. 40% off, yay π there's a junk food-like satisfaction of crocheting an easy stitch in a color changing yarn.

#crochet #handmade
it is a very terrible name.
when I first heard of it I was like, are these the tac'd out moms who rock out with their Glocks out at the local IDPA?
oh, no, they're not? well, that's lame...
I'm at week 40, almost 41. nearly to the finish line!
congrats to you π is it your first?

I was so excited to get one once. I smacked it on the table, it opened like magic. I had one bite and was like, this isn't meant to be eaten.
this is meant to be a projectile that you throw at the enemy and escape while they're distracted at the chocolate now scattered at their feet.
for me personally, the latter π
nice idea!
BYOA Be Your Own Algorithm π€
you know what I love about using nostr as my primary social media?
I have never worried or have had any anxiety about my follower count. I follow those who post interesting content that I want to see, not because they were suggested to me by some XYZ algorithm. I don't care who follows me or if someone I followed followed me back or not.
because a) the app I use doesn't push notifications about follows to create that ugly fomo feeling and b) it depends on your relay so the follower count changes anyway.
they also reposted for most of their content. nothing wrong with that, of course. they added their thoughts to their reposts that were mostly in the vein of agreement. one doesn't have to be confrontational or contrarian to be social but it doesn't really give others an avenue to engage with you.
I think it's important to post original content from your life, your experiences and your own knowledge to be able to find your people on nostr.
yeah they're pretty neat and very easy to use. I've heard parents swear by it.
yeah I've heard a lot of debate between the button, snap, zipper and magnet gangs. I'm gonna try all of them and see which one works for me. (except magnets)
yeah! that's a great place to start. looking forward to seeing pics :)
the yarn is Knitpicks Heatherly Sport. it's a 80% acrylic 20% wool.
I think a zipper onesie would be awesome π
lol, most peppers start out green and then change into the different colors depending on variety and ripeness.
