Writing the Great American Bitcoin Novel 📚🧡✍️

That's so cool! I've made my own before at home, but I doubt it compares to the real thing. What was the culture there like around its consumption?

Heyo! Senior frontend engineer here 👋

I specialize in building UIs in Agricultural Tech. I also run my company's internship program and am always looking to connect with more developers to see how others are teaching the next generation.

Dark chocolate is one of my favorite drugs 🙃

In the correct dosage of dark chocolate it can be both delicious and euphoric. Cocoa ceremonies are actually popular in some placesvin south america.

Its easy to overlook the billions of hours of human effort that it took just to bring about the things in my living room. Television, phone, windows, automated fireplace, central heating unit, and carpet.

Each of these would have been considered a modern miracle 200 years ago. We live in an infinitely abundant future, and I will work every day to not forget how fortunate I am.

I love all of you, let's not forget how good we have it today ❤️

In today's woke world, I identify as whatever gender has the shorter line at the gas station bathroom ♀️♂️

Continually amazes me how many life lessons and fundamental truths about reality are made apparent through bitcoin. The importance of action is just one, I can't hit the gym or jiu jitsu mats these days without seeing the idea of Proof of Work.

With each day bitcoin makes me a better person and I'm deeply grateful for that 🧡

I've been trying to orange pill a family member in a bunch of different ways. Conversation, books, podcasts, and data. They were intrigued, but you know the thing that finally got them IN?

Sending them sats instantly on the lightning network. Rather than hypotheticals, the thing that finally won them over was ACTION ⚡️🧡

With a solid enough body lock, you can be a little bit looser and more aggressive with your neck attacks

How many of you Nostriches listen to your podcasts and audio books at faster speeds? I'm looking for advice or recommendations on how much faster you can work up to and if you can retain high comprehension while listening at 3x speeds?

I see a lot of people talking about Nostr's lack of algorithms, but they will be coming soon.

For example, I think it would be interesting if a client allowed to sort by posts with the most sats zapped in the last day. I think this could be interesting, but maybe you hate this idea. Good! There is no limit to the amount of different clients that can exist.

The beauty of Nostr is that it allows for clients to do whatever they want, you can hop around and experiment with different algos or implementations, all while still keeping your same followers/follows on whichever one you choose. This is what makes this so much more beautiful that centralized social media, it allows for a free market competition of clients, but rather than being tied to the implementation of a centralized party, we can all, with no cost whatsoever, switch to the client we most prefer.

With traditional social media's centralized control, many of us (myself included) have come to hate these algorithms, but now, for the first time ever, we'll be able to switch to the algorithm we most prefer by switching to a new client. I don't think most people grasp just how powerful this is, it essentially fixes the core issue with all centralized social media over the last 15 years.

I love this space now, but there is so much untapped potential yet to be explored here. Presently, I'm just so grateful to be here with all of you watching it happen 💜

Not much, but it'll come. I've been attacked by a couple shitcoiners who clearly came on just to argue with people. In the globals there are some people doing the fear porn thing.

I think I'm basically agreeing with you here, that algorithms are not to be feared, and could potentially add value to the space. I would be pretty bummed to lose the pure freedom here though, but I could always adopt a client without the algorithms I dislike.

I got all sorts of fear and negativity fed to me, I love the lack of algorithms on Nostr, but I suspect they are coming.

There is nothing stopping someone from building a client that has its own subtle ranking algo (sorting my total sats zapped would be a good example)

The big difference is that if you didn't like the algorithm, you'd be able to switch to a different client fluidly and have all the exact same followers/follows.

The benefits here is that it allows for a free market of Nostr clients, but there is a non-zero chance that a client with an algorthm built on Nostr becomes the primary way many interact with the protocol. We are just in the initial wild west version right now.

Can't wait to see how it progress with all of you 😄💜

I did something similar when a close friend cheated on his GF in the friend group. He thought that, as he had been our friend first, he would get to stick around.

He was solely mistaken. We don't tolerate that bullshit and now his GF continued to be a core part of our friend group and I had a conversation with him explaining that we will were essentially separating from him.

The Fed has a dilemma, almost a race, between two things as they raise rates here.

1) Raising rates generally results in tighter borrowing standards on a lag. This can reduce lending-driven money creation and lead to disinflationary demand destruction around the margins.

2) At high public debt levels, raising rates also increases federal interest expense, which increases the fiscal deficit, which is a source of ongoing inflationary stimulus into the economy.

In the 1940s, inflation was fiscal-driven and public debt was high.

In the 1970s, inflation was mostly lending-driven and public debt was low.

Currently, the Fed is using a 1970s-style playbook to deal with 1940s-style fiscal-driven inflation.

Guys, we are so fortunate to have Lyn on here, let's zap her into oblivion to make sure she knows how grateful we are for the value that she produces 💜⚡️💜⚡️

So flipping excited for this one, just starting it now, please don't take it easy on him #[0] ✊
