That’s not actually the trust and safety I’m talking about. Nostr has very few women as active users, in no small part because when women post an innocent selfie they get death and rape threats. Even if there isn’t that extreme reaction we still have people questioning their very existance like the trolls that claim they’re not actually a woman.

When we interview people to understand why they’re not using Nostr, that stuff comes up a lot. People, especially women, don’t want to be harassed and stalked. It doesn’t feel fun and comfortable. They’ve already chosen to use other platforms which are safer.

Nobody is proposing that we be able to ban accounts. More social media without the ability to have boundaries is like living in a glass house with no lock on the front door. I can close the front door of my house, choose I invite over, and generally control my personal space. My preventing you from moving in to my house or crashing a dinner party is not censoring you.
