We have reached the point where he cannot POSSIBLY be perceived (in full global public view) as the leader of an anti-statist movement.
I used to watch his videos and think “Fck. One day, they (the state) are going to come after him with a vengeance.”
That day probably already came. Hence, his complete 180 on self sovereignty.
Now he can say to the/his SEC/USG overlords, “don’t pay any attention to those whacky crypto-anarchists. They are harmless. (And I’m NOT one of them) The Bitcoin world will be regulated. It serves no threat to the state. Don’t you worry, little 80 IQ public servant”
My take is that he is buying us precious time. And my sense is that he knows it.
When I game theorised it in my head over a year ago, this is EXACTLY where it came out.
Hyperinflation of western fiat is closer than anyone previously thought. Just look at gold and silver.
In truth, we don’t need much more time. The more people with V for Vendetta (Bitcoin) masks on, the harder we are to target. That’s the play, IMO. And like him personally or not, Saylor has been and continues to be in service of that.

If it had even a fractional chance of being accurate, gold price would have been DECIMATED over past 3 yrs. Instead, it has skyrocketed.
HOWEVER, your point about Bitcoin superiority is valid.
Long term (10-20 years), if Bitcoin stays decentralised and secure, it will demonetise EVERYTHING including gold.
I would do this with my 2 older boys (now 26 and 23) when they were toddlers.
