Stanley understands marketing in 2024, and they’re proving it. Basically they realized that there were a bunch of females bedazzling these cups and making bank so Stanley said to themselves “why don’t we do that shit?” And here we are. First world basic bitch females have made it the retardedness it currently is, but I ain’t mad at Stanley for capitalizing on it.

Forgot the hashtags lol

Stopped by one of the big surplus stores bout an hour away from me the other day, just to kill a few minutes as I was early for the reason I was in the area. Normally this store is a little over priced, but right off the bat I found a couple of the head wraps I use when I’m welding for $5/$6 so I snagged those. Wandered to the back and what did my eyes fall upon but these two beauts! $18 a piece. Gotta clean ‘em up and figure out a spout for the Napa-branded Eagle, and make sure they both seal (these will go into rotation of my storage fuel to replace the shitty plastic ones). Went in not planning to spend anything and came out spending $50 lol

Believe it or not, quite a few times actually. I’m probably running about 50/50. I always specify “assuming the valve doesn’t leak, this might be pretty simple”

Yeah I experimented yesterday by not plugging it in. Pretty sure the diesel gelled overnight (got down to 15). Plugged it in for about 2 hrs, cycled the glow plugs a few times, and still had to give her a snort of ether. My buddy’s powerstroke killed a starter and 2 batts (they were almost 6 years old though) and even in the afternoon when he finally got it cranked you could tell it wasn’t happy.

They were calling for 16 tonight but it seems it only made it to the low 20’s. I plugged in the block heater at 5pm and have let it run all night lol

Yeah I had to go back and look it up too so thank you lol it was the demonetization of silver, not gold, and I just got it confuzzled. Too many random facts floating around in my brain bin and they blend together sometimes lol

You are correct, I had it remembered incorrectly. It was a commentary on money in general. The Gold Standard act was actually signed in 1900, which left silver.

nostr:npub15879mltlln6k8jy32k6xvagmtqx3zhsndchcey8gjyectwldk88sq5kv0n was the first place I heard that fact, which led me to get the audible version of the book and damn sure if they weren’t silver.

Random fact of the day: in the original story, Dorothy’s slippers were silver, as the whole story was actually a commentary on the US leaving the gold standard. The cited reason for switching to Ruby in the film version was to “show off” the new color film tech.

Managed to get up the motivation to do a quick glow plug controller bypass switch, since the glow plug controller is one of the projects that needs replacing. Today is the coldest day we’ve had this winter, and the old 7.3 was NOT happy after sitting for near 9 hours in the parking lot at work. So now, I have control of the glow plugs and have far less to worry about with the cold weather. I do plan to swap to a momentary switch, I just didn’t have one on hand today and didn’t want to go get one and lose daylight (and warmth lol).

Thanks man! Adding these is really simple (wiring with 120v is pretty self explanatory with modern parts, it’s all color coded anymore), though I’m sure it could be done better too. I’m not sure this is “how it’s supposed to be done”, but it meets my criteria, and I feel is safer than most as the plug under the hood is gfci protected, and the plug on my house that I use is also GFCI protected. Overboard a bit, but that way I know if I’m somewhere else and plugged in I’ve got gfci on the circuit lol
