I love it when the red tail hawk visits. Inviting and reminding me to change my perspective. #birdtribes #messenger

full report for friends asking:

Freak accident last night, slipped and fell at a BBQ, and a fillet knife sliced my peroneal nerve and a major artery, all the way into my shin bone. I didn’t feel anything, but I looked down and saw my bone and the wound pouring.

I was bleeding out fast. I applied pressure with my hand directly on the exposed artery and bone and hopped over to my friends. My friends and I tied a tank top around the wound, jammed in a pen for a makeshift tourniquet, wound it up tight to stop the bloodflow, then made two more above and below the wound with our shirts. That quick response bought me enough time for my friend to get me to the ER.

We waited in the ER for about an hour before getting seen by a nurse. She opened the tourniquet, took pressure off, and she got sprayed, shin exposed, artery wide open. She tried to clean it a bit the we out the pressure back on. Then we sat in the hallway to wait for a doctor.

The ER doc said they weren’t equipped to stop the bleeding. At this point I’m getting dizzy and shaky cause the shock was wearing off. Very nervous. They said they weren’t outfitted to handle that kind of bleeding, so they didn’t want to dress it. They spent some time debating whether to gamble and try to close it themselves, or spend hours transferring me to a severe trauma surgeon in another hospital.

Finally, one doctor made the call. He joked I was holding up the patient line. He opened the tourniquet, cleaned the wound, and stitched the artery, deep tissue, fascia, and everything back together, inside and out. Two hours and several injections of antibiotics and pain killers later, I was stitched up and stable.

I’m home now. Stuck in bed, leg elevated. Can’t walk or move much. The pain didn’t hit until this morning and it’s unbearable to be honest. Never had anything like it. The doctors said I’m incredibly lucky.

Still waiting to see if I’ll need surgery, depending in how the nerves and tissues heal, and how bad the nerve damage is. Had a nice house call today to reassess and clean and get more pain killers and antibiotic injections. They said fortunately it was a very sharp knife, so the nerves may reconnect smooth. There’s a lot of parts of my leg that numb out randomly, and some drop foot when I try to move, but I’m optimistic it will heal well. Not too much bleeding so the artery seems good. Just monitoring for infection and trying to manage pain and inflammation now.

No swimming, no jiu-jitsu, no walking for a while. But I’m really grateful for the helpful visitors, my neighbors, the support, and especially the friends who stayed calm under pressure and saved my life.

Anyway, accidents happen. Going as well as can be. I’m definitely going to invest some more time into emergency prep, and I think it's worthwhile for everyone to consider learning some basics too. If you have any suggested material on this please send it 🤙

OMG 😱 that seems so scary. That is crazy. I was literally telling my friend a week ago that I am trying to figure out what's been with the past week, where I literally got knife and fscars injuries 3 times in just a few days. I don't remember the last time prior to that I had a cut.

So I've been getting assisted by this teenager Jack the last few days, helping me apply an insulin shot to a fat cat I am caring for that turned out to be quite volatile and aggressive and frankly I have not felt safe approaching her. Jack has come in for a few days wearing all protective leather biker gear so we can ensure she stays alive.

Finally today we get to talking a bit and I asked him about the little carpentry project he was doing with his coder dad a couple days ago. Turns out his dad is taking a sabbatical for a month and focusing on creative endeavours.

He starts asking me what I do and I blur out a bunch of words to explain my direction and the field I am oriented in and looking to be involved in whether with my healing and spiritual guidance and community care or in other perhaps marketing, story telling and community organizing endevours.

Hearing me he begins to mentions he is interning at his aunt's foundation where they are creating an open source library for disability resources. And he mentions his uncle and his job at a foundation focused on free speech which causes me to bring up Nostr.

Then he says, "oh yeah and my dad's friend Kevin invented this thing called #Meshtastic".

So I tell him about nostr:nprofile1qqsgydql3q4ka27d9wnlrmus4tvkrnc8ftc4h8h5fgyln54gl0a7dgspp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpxdmhxue69uhkuamr9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wshkz7tkdfkx26tvd4urqctvxa4ryur3wsergut9vsch5dmp8pese6nj96's #bitchat and that we should test it out tomorrow. 🙃

Now I need to ensure I got the latest nostr:nprofile1qqs9pk20ctv9srrg9vr354p03v0rrgsqkpggh2u45va77zz4mu5p6ccpzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qgkwaehxw309a5xjum59ehx7um5wghxcctwvshsfmrzrk Android version ready and updated.

What a 0-1 degree of separation reality if I only spoke to people more often. 🧡 And indeed that seems to be the calling I've been hearing lately. #network

That one time I was in my underwear in the kitchen and for whatever reason decided to take a #selfie of my reflection on the balcony door. Go figure.

That one time I was accomplishing some fit body goals.

That one time my friend Kaya Marie set me up for LIB. #throwback2018 #westcoastfestival

Yeah, pretty cool views. Today particularly.

I had to connect to wifi. It seems like my phone service was having poor reception.

Do you mean set goals or expect better of myself and others?

That's the big question, isn't it? If life circumstances led to it, I could see being a mother being worth giving to. And if not that being nurturing nurishing healing presence for others.

That's good on both accounts. I guess if I have to speak of what I've observed within myself for like 2 decades, purpose seems to be incredibly important to me.

Yes, I am 40! How old are you? Are you suggesting I should just dig out my grave and bury myself in it?

Envisioning a lot more bare feet and skin, dancing, basking in the sun, breathing fresh air, drinking clean water, eating nourishing food, singing, playing + more ocean waves and sand and lots of love making in the next few decades+... (Maybe even babies?)

Wildest synchronicities... What are the chances that just as I sat down to do a hape meditation here on this land just a moment ago, a man comes out, says hello and introduces himself. And he ends up being the vocalist on the song I am dancing to here a month+ ago, who is just stopping by from LA for a couple days but used to live right here, where I happened to return to just about a week ago for short bit 👀 I did recognize him though cos we are fb friends from like a decade ago. He asked me if I knew that they conceived and recorded and released this song in only 24 hours. It's pretty spectacular. He is visiting his ex (in her words they were together for 7 years and now they are family forever), who had seen me do this lil dance and had waved from a far and apparently had messaged him: "Some cute girl in her bikini is dancing to Grateful within our hearts"😄 , I felt a lil embarassed and explained how that day was special with Saturn entering Aries for the first time in 32 years after circling the whole archetypal zodiacal wheel and I felt like paying homage doing ma thing... 😌 They were both assuring me that musicians and artists love to hear that stuff happening and he made me promise I will send him the video. 😅

I was freezing there last week. My barrel jeans were above my ankles and my barefeet shoes were mesh. Not a good combo. Thankfully the sun was out and I kept chasing the sunny spots.
