Submitting an app through Google Play is incredibly frustrating. I need at least 12 email addresses of 12 android users who are willing to test bitchat for 2 weeks before I can publish the app.
I have no idea how to get 12 users, so I'll ask you nostr. If you want to be a tester, please DM me your email address and I'll invite you in google play store.

This will be an infinite rabbit hole. A friend of mine used to publish a simple board game on google play and every few months they'll throw you new hoops to jump through until you give up.

Better yet, get it on Accrescent and have GrapheneOS users be able to install that.

I will to test but using Zapstore. I don't download apps on Google Play when they are available on Zapstore or F droid.
I made an app once. A simple sat to dollar calculator with a price api in a web view called satworth.
I put it on my GitHub and on zap store. But after seeing what I needed to to to get on the Play store, I decided I'm probably never doing app development ever again. I've only ever focused on PWA since then. That shit is beyond ridiculous.
Big tech was always about begging for permission. The internet was never meant to be asking for permission!!!

This is why I hate mobile apps being captured by big tech but most people will never see this censorship apparatus starts with a heavy handed approval process that just breaks developers who already work insanely hard at their craft.
This is why #nostr and this is why webapps first, its permissionless, so think twice what you are asking for before begging for a big tech mobile app!!

I don't use android (yet) but I can at least re-note this for you and re-X it (or, whatever the kids are calling it these days).
GrapheneOS is very good
Just use firebase app distribution itโs much easier to use and you donโt have upgrade your version number with every update and no google release test

No itโs a distribution without the play store for testing purposes. I used it heavily in some projects because itโs very easy to invite people without the play store overhead

PWA's are awesome in general. If I do use big tech social media its trough a PWA because that brings 2 things.
1. They don't have access to my phone.
2. My adblock injects in the page and cuts the ads out which can be hard to do with official appw.
I have no one to test it with.

Yup, we don't even bother making a formal app for our AI UI. If we did we'd somehow have to ensure that the UI and all the AI's accessible to it are completely sanetized. Because those verificators are assholes that will deliberately try to prompt the AI to do forbidden stuff which is an unreasonable standard. Its like banning a browser app for adult content after typing in a porn site yourself.
But instead mobile users wanting to use the online APi version can just go to https://koboldai.net and add to homescreen and it will work great. Despite it being a web app its super snappy once loaded.
