I'm having a similar issue today. When I zap somebody it sends the sats but it doesn't register in the primal app. It initially shows the zap including the amount within the Primal interface, but then defaults back to no sats being sent, but still shows the highlighted zap icon as if I had zapped zero sats. When I go to my Alby wallet though, it shows that the transaction was successful.
I just finished my first week on Nostr and I have to say I am very impressed. The zap integration with lightning wallets is mind blowing and the implications of it are profound.
It feels like the implementation and adoption of Nostr, in addition to the development of other V4V apps, represents a huge step towards achieving the vision laid out in "The Sovereign Individual" of reducing the stranglehold the State currently has over the masses.
A decentralized hard money like Bitcoin is ultimately futile if the State achieves global tyrannical control, but decentralized platforms such as Nostr, when used in conjunction with perfect money (Bitcoin), are the keys to free us from this dystipian outcome.
I've never been more optimistic about the future of this fight and am thankful to everybody who has worked on this freedom technology! 🙏

Interesting. I noticed Alby had a waitlist when I went to their website directly via web browser, but it allowed me to sign up when I accessed the wallet via my client (Primal). I love the concept of Mutiny and am for self-custody overall (I have my own full node for self-custody on L1), but when dealing with negligible amounts, Alby seemed like a good option. I'm looking forward to what mutiny is implementing with Fedimint though because I know fees are going to remain high and only get higher over time on L1.

I just set up my nostr account yesterday and was trying to decide between Mutiny and Alby. I ended up deciding to go with Alby custodial option because it would have cost ~$20 to set up a mutiny wallet. I didn't understand why opening a lightning channel cost that much, and since I was depositing such a small amount I didn't mind using a custodial wallet. Can you provide any clarification as to why the setup fee is so high relative to an unchain transaction?
Amen brother, it'll be funny to watch our government try to ban self-custody. They have no fundamental understanding of what they are dealing with.

How does Strike distinguish between a payment and a withdrawal since they are positioning themselves as a payment platform? I'm wondering how they categorize each transaction since you can "send" USD out as a payment but the receiver gets bitcoin.

Agreed. I wholly believe that any attempts to artificially suppress the price of bitcoin through paper derivatives (like they have with gold for quite some time) will fail miserably and result in an epic short squeeze. As more and more of the available coins find their way into the hands of us "psychopaths" (as @`preston` likes to call us) who never plan on selling, the spot market will have no other choice than to explode higher. Ultimately, any temporary price suppression achieved will benefit those continuing to stack sats at the lower prices.
