An early good morning to everyone here on Nostr!

What exciting things do you all have planned for the week?

Good morning, nostr! Two cups of coffee down and moving on to some red rooibos now.

What's everyone else up to?

Thanks for the response!

Out of curiosity, why load the eSIM first? I never would have thought about doing so in that order.

Jon Jondai is an amazing man, and his English channel on YouTube has done wonders in spreading wisdom to the world.

I'm so glad to see that he's also speaking to Thai audiences as well!

That must be exciting. I've been thinking of doing the same for quite some time.

Which Pixel did you end up using? What do you make of the experience thus far? Fairly easy to get set up? Most apps functioning well? Any surprises, one way or the other?

Holiday or your next film project?

Either way, enjoy your time in the Land of Smiles!

Are you prepared for a high chain fee environment?

Liquid has been undervalued for a long time, here are the advantages:

- You forget about incoming liquidity problems.

- Confidential transactions

- Used in the same way as bitcoin, you forget about being "online".

- No known security flaws.

- Possibility of cold storage.

As disadvantages:

- It is federated, even so it is much more secure than an exchange or a lightning custody wallet, and if you use cold storage it is more secure than a hot wallet.

- In terms of scalability it is not a panacea either, it is just that now few people use it and that is why it is viable.

Some blockstream people advocate moving the ordinals to Liquid but if we do that then it will be Liquid who will suffer a high fee environment...and it will be Liquid functionaries who will earn that money in fees.

In short, it pays to know how to use and move in Liquid as well as Lightning to successfully deal with a high fee environment, but neither is a panacea.

Liquid is simpler to use than Lightning and has fewer bugs, has good privacy for both the receiver and the sender from an outside observer, on the other hand Liquid is federated and is not as scalable as Lightning.

And one of the points why I think Ligthning has had more adoption, is that with lightning you work directly with Bitcoin, it's not a sidechain, with Liquid you work with a token until you do the pegout, it's a sidechain.

That said, you need to use both, right now we don't have anything else.

While I'm happy do some searching around, do you have any preferred primers on Liquid? I must confess that I've not read or watched much in the way of Liquid.

For those who are paying for relays, which are you using? How did you decide on your paid relays? Do you find them more reliable than free ones? Any other reasons to use paid relays?

Welcome to Nostr! Let us know if you have any questions, and have a great time sharing freely!

"Thank you for reaching out. Please consider this me 'doing something'. I do not elect to move to the SVR provided and will continue on our contractually agreed upon rate of 3.59%. Thank you for your understanding. Have a nice day."

I can't speak about Palestine, but for locations like Ukraine Bitcoin can help fleeing refugees to take their wealth with them without necessarily getting hassled at border crossings, whether into Poland, Romania, or elsewhere.

While I can't cite specific news articles, anecdotal evidence from those I know on the ground indicated that in the early weeks of the invasion, many refugees may have had trouble bringing cash or even gold with them across international borders.

If you have a seed phrase in your head (or less securely saved somewhere in the cloud), you could theoretically pass without any problems and then reclaim your wallet on the other side once you relocate to a new location.

I just discovered some fun Bitcoin-themed phone wallpapers: https://thelittlehodler.com/phone-wallpapers/

Which do you like best? While a bit early, I think I may go for the Christmas-themed one.

Years ago, I had success with 'fire cider' but haven't been able to make a batch in a long time.

Long story short, soak garlic, chilies, horseradish, onions, and other similar items in apple cider vinegar for as long as you can. When experiencing symptoms, take a shot of the liquid.

For years, I used to buy books from Book Depository, as they could ship to most any country I was in at no extra charge. Their books had a slightly higher premium, but it was hardly noticeable. Since they've discontinued business, I've mostly stuck to ebooks but have missed ordering proper paperbacks and hardcover books.

So, let's #asknostr! What online book sellers (besides Amazon!) would you use to purchase books? Which sellers have free or reasonable shipping rates, no matter if the books are going to the Americas, Europe, Asia, or Oceania?

That's really cool! Is this part of a Bitcoin educational institute or group there? I'd love to know more about such activities in that region!
