Under a Bitcoin standard, how could we go about approaching things like import duties? Should individual citizens be charged for bringing in items for personal use and consumption, whether they be books, cosmetics, food items, or even Bitcoin miners?

Nevermind. I was running an old Keet version from ages ago, and it wouldn't update. I've downloaded the most recent and got it functioning finally.

Now, I'm just waiting for approval to join the Repository!

Is anyone else using Keet.io? Are there any good freedom, privacy, BTC, or XMR group chats on there?

Even as an educator, I need to work on doing more of this with parents, admins, and others I work with. nostr:naddr1qqu42mnvda3kktt5dpjj6ntpva5kxtt0vckhg6r994yxzmnywaexjar5v4hz64rgv9hxkt2eda6j6nn0w3jj6mmnx4cxgeczyzshld8d3eynj4ag2fug44urp29celdl62jan6d5653873798alfzqcyqqq823c2xqtgx

It would be interesting to see additional stats about who these applicants are. For example, are these ethnic Armenians born abroad? Spouses of Armenians? Foreign residents, who moved to the country? People looking for a backup passport?

I hadn't thought of the industrial/green energy angle. That's fascinating. Are there any good blogs, articles, or books you'd recommend to learn more about that whole field?

nostr:npub15tzcpmvkdlcn62264d20ype7ye67dch89k8qwyg9p6hjg0dk28qs353ywv, are you a bot or are you just on Nostr non-stop?

The last day or two, you've liked several of my notes only 1.1239871298312791208301283012 seconds after I've posted them. 🤣

While using moStard and noStrudel, I've gotten a few notifications, asking me for permission to install Google Widevine. BLOCK!

I've looked into the silver bug world a few times over the years and can see some of the appeal. Some enjoy having a 'hard' asset that's tangible. Others like the hobby of stacking pellets, coins, and bars. Still others are into more of the survivalist angle, wanting to have something they can trade easily (unlike gold that has too high of a value for day-to-day trades in most instances).

So out of curiosity, what are you stacking for? Beating inflation? TEOTWAWKI scenarios?

I vacillate between staying fairly private here and sharing more about my life and interests. Sometimes, I consider going the "'personal brand" route and turning this into a catch-all account, but other times I think about creating a few more npubs to touch on other areas of interest.

It's not an easy decision, so for the meantime I just stick with sharing little bits and pieces but still being cautious about oversharing.

It's always a great time on Nostr. From BTC maxis to privacy enthusiasts, homeschoolers to photographers, I've run into all sorts of fascinating folks here. The last few days, I've put in some more time exploring and have found even more interesting characters out in the Nostr wilds.

If that's not a conflict of interest, I don't know what is.

Watchman Privacy just interviewed AlaskaAnon about being debanked and living on a cash & XMR standard. It was a great teaser episode, but I'd love to hear even more details on how people can get away from the banking industry and move more fully into the parallel economy.

Also, if anyone still uses Twitter, tell AlaskaAnon to get over here to Nostr!

"Pichai emphasised the controlled nature of the trial. Under the sandbox model, bitcoin would be used for transactions, but recipients wouldn’t handle the cryptocurrency directly. Instead, funds would flow through the system via standard financial transaction processes, ensuring stability."

So are they proposing using BTC as a middleman, with fiat on both ends of the transaction?

I often enjoy perusing long-form content on Primal, Yakihonne and other clients. Yet, when I find a particularly long article, I try to save it via Pocket for later reading on an eInk reader.

Yet, Pocket seems incapable of recognising Nostr articles. Whenever I go back to read them, Pocket will try to open a web browser on my eInk devices, which defeats the purposes of easy reading on a Kindle, Kobo, or similar device.

So the question is, should I migrate away from Pocket to a platform that can properly recognise Nostr articles as such or is there a Nostr client that does something on the back-end that is more friendly to Pocket and similar services?
