Hoping to have good soil THIS year! I will be adding Biochar and rabbit poo!
I know I can extend the season, I just try to work within my animal's natural biological pathways. If I have excess production in spring and summer, and the means to prolong the harvest, I prefer that route to biohacking their biology.
Not that I wouldn't if needed, just preference. And I have 3-4x as many eggs produced now vs what I need.
Doing this this year. Excess eggs right now, but nothing from Nov to Feb.

Been sitting my victory garden (arborist wood chips and a years worth of chicken poo and food scraps) to make new beds.
Need to transplant tomatoes, eggplant, and various peppers soon!

Does anyone know anything about ground egg shells helping with poor teeth/fighting cavities...etc?
I've always had soft teeth. Lots of cavities as a teen. My teens are going through this, and even my 6 year old is has under-developed teeth, poor enamel. I vaguely remember reading something about ground egg shells being beneficial somehow, but can't remember or find what is triggering that memory. It may have been for natural toothpaste or something, just not recalling specifics. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's another quick update on the 1/2 acre homestead. I have a lot of mulch screening to get to! Thoughts and opinions welcome!
I built the chicken tractor (stagecoach) a few years back thinking it would be a daily mover. But the 6 full size chickens were too big to contain n inside the stagecoach, and it was a lot more difficult to move then I thought. Then I got the Premier1 electro net and was moving them weekly, which turned into every other week.
I was also getting arborist wood chips dropped and after wheelbarrowing 3 truck loads to my back yard (and developing a hernia) I had had enough, so I moved the bird to where the load was and figured I'd let them spread it and compost it. I'm kind of treating this like a victory garden. I moved them to a new section, and now I'm going to screen this section to make garden beds. Updates to follow.
Black coffee should be fine. It is typical to have a higher glucose and lower ketones in the early am. I believe it's called "the Dawn Effect".
Intermittent fasting can help you keep the numbers in a great place. We do coffee with some heavy cream in the am (gotta lolive a little), but often don't eat until noon or so.

There is a way. I have "Unchained Capital" as the holder of my Bitcoin IRA. When talking about this with them, you can transfer from a 401K/403B into a Bitcoin retirement account, but if you're still working with the company that your Retirement Fund is with, you'll have to get their permission to move the funds. This is without tax consequences. I was sadly not able to get permission.
