Nostr's Chief Android Officer - Amethyst Social

A signer app for Android. You can find it on zap store

If you are using Android, the only place you should paste you nsec is on Amber. No other app cares about your key security as Amber does. No one.

No, but the AI can write a post with your nsec in by mistake. It will need to fool users on pasting their nsec in the app, but that has happened. If that gets built, only the signer can stop it.

Signer apps should automatically reject any signing request with their users nsec or the hex equivalent in the event.

AI will do dumb things. Protective signer apps are our last defense. I hope they stand up to the challenge.

I am also a developer. The tests I made generate Amethyst quite closely to a light kind 1 client without looking at the code. All the applicant needs to do is to setup the AI to finish the rest. I believe that is possible in 6 months of time. If not, we can still choose the closest to the target.

Not really. The UX is still very, very far, especially on the Android version that has been lagging behind their iOS version by quite a lot (6-8 months, usually). It's fine if you like it. But don't pretend it's anywhere near as good as Twitter's.

On the second point, It is because of it. I didn't say despite it. It's a lot easier do focus on the UX, when you don't need to spend the time and resources to decentralize the app from their own infrastructure, build self custody solutions, no central cache, implement outbox, help users control their own data, etc, like we all try to do. It's a choice they made that I would definitely never make. To me, there is no point in moving people from a centralized company to another.

They basically tried to make LRMs solve puzzles after teaching them the algorithm, which they failed.

Apple is like if we can't make Siri work nobody can! ... Sniff...

Great little paper, though.

No need to be sure. Just 90% sure is enough. AI leaks a lot of signs everywhere in the codebase.

Hum... Is it loading the spammer profile picture? It's working great for me.

Or just add randomuser.me to the hidden words. They use that site to generate pictures

Tariffs are working so well, we are even making popes in America now.

Proof that search is working in most clients. :)

Hope people notice that there is a space for a client that is specifically designed to help people manage their follow lists: create and (most importantly) update lists over time, automatically group keys by topics or types of nostr apps they use, remove old contacts, manage hidden and blocked users, re-sync with other lists, etc.

Amethyst is now applying a minimum 20% tariff on all users of other Nostr clients and 84% on Primal users.

Landing pages? Yeah, I saw a few. Complex stuff? Not really.

How's the auto-translation reactivation situation going? I mentioned some time ago that I dismissed Japanese auto-translate and I wanted to get it back, but there was no option to do so. I have since reinstalled Amethyst on a new device, but the auto-translate is still not working for Japanese. Any updates in the works for a fix?

Hum.. I need to get back into that and design the settings screens for it. Let me raise the priority for after this current work on a new post structure. 😥

The one thing I learned during my start up years is too make sure I am listening to actual users, not just managers and keyboard commentators. Mix them up and you end up with the wrong product.
