Realistically they just flee the US and start mining on far more dirty energy sources ๐
I can't see how they'd manage to pull that off. Can't stop me from running a computer on my network..
Biden's 2025 budget is very bullish on #Bitcoin
the White House expects $250k by 2035.
They are counting on it for their tax revenues! ๐

Nintendo is going around shutting down open source projects (Yuzu and Citra).
Is git on nostr functional, or just a proof of concept/toy?
Have you played Barotrauma? It's not free, but it is open source! And it's a ton of fun to play with a group of friends.
All aboard the sus bus!
Why isn't the mass media talking about this?
AI technologies consume significant amounts of energy, with estimates suggesting that AI-related activities could consume as much electricity as a small country like Ireland.
The growth of AI, particularly large language models (LLMs), has led to concerns about the energy demands of data centers, which already account for 1-1.5% of global electricity use.
If current trends continue, AI energy consumption could increase dramatically, potentially leading to a 10-fold increase in data center energy consumption.

Curious if AI datacenters need to be located near city centers or if they can be relatively remote like bitcoin miners. If you need low latency and high bandwidth, they're decidedly much worse at seeking out low-cost energy.
quality of bitcoin magazine has always been pretty hit-or-miss. Sometimes they post good stuff, but often they make some lemons.
I'd fuck with most of these. You can put whatever you want on a sandwich, as long as you like it.
The whole raw milk thing feels like a bunch of pseudo bro science to me. Where's the evidence that there are any benefits and not just more dangerous? Looking for actual science, not anecdotes.
Wild, I didn't know raw milk was illegal in some places. No trouble getting it here in California.
God damn. I don't appreciate that jump scare at the end where 2 eyes come out of nowhere. ๐คฃ
This is a pretty funny metaphor, but it nails it.
Looks dorky now, but in 10 or 20 years, this stuff will be slick and everyone will be using it, just like your smartphone. Don't be a luddite.
I'm in the same spot. I have a real hard time fully committing to projects all the way to completion.
A lot of FOSS LN node software is Python-based, if you're more interested in Linux than Android.
