I learned more from this than any other discourse out there.

I'm really looking forward to the algorithm wars on these taxis. Open source vs closed source. How does this code handle the pedestrian problem vs this code. It's going to be a crazy time and I'm here for it!
Let me know how you feel at the end. I'm curious. I won't give any spoilers.
I know it's different in Japan though. The whole culture is school oriented, no?
GOOD MORNING NOSTR.
HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I HEARD ODELL'S NEWS YEARS RESOLUTION IS TO CONTINUE TO ANNOY HIS HATERS BY TYPING IN ALL CAPS FOR ANOTHER YEAR.
SOLID RESOLUTION
GM!
My corporate job has a stupid "3 goals to accomplish" at the beginning and middle of the year. I really want to write "Don't give a fuck" on all three goals every time. 😂🤣
Eh... He just needs to tell the tradcons he found Jesus and they'll forgive him and give him more air time.
Ugh... That's super annoying. The only thing I can think to do in that case is just close the channel and move the funds on-chain instead. It was a pain to get all my sats off of Wallet of Satoshi too. They need a "send max" button or something
Happy New Year's NOSTR!
It's #Bitcoin 's year and I'm pumped. Can't wait to tell everyone else that I told them so, while they simultaneously call me lucky. We got this!
So that depends... If you were using Alby as a custodial solution, they have specific rules for using their node. I know I read somewhere they charged 1% for using their service or something like that. It's considerably cheaper when using your own node instead of someone else's.
Are they public routing channels?
As far as I know lightning is set up to just be unilateral in closing for a reason. I would just close them. Then send the on-chain sats to your new node.
Lightning payment fees are calculated by the nodes. You're relying on other nodes to route your payment. The node itself can specify how much they charge for your use of their channel.
In other words: your node is A. You have a channel to node B. But you need to send 1000 sats to node C. Node B has a channel with node C. Node B has it coded in their channel to charge 5 sats per route. So node A pays node B 1005 sats through your channel, then node B sends 1000 sats to node C through their shared channel.
Does this make sense?
Happy New Year Jeff!
See, I understand your point and it's disappointing from close family and friends... But I really try and step back and look at how the last four years have played out, especially COVID.
The switch happens when someone prominent, and when the propaganda machine TELLS everyone to buy it. Then you're stupid if you don't buy it.
The majority of this world is NPCs. They have to be TOLD who to hate, what to invest in, which country deserves support, what race is being marginalized, what sexual orientation is under represented, etc.
The good thing is, Bitcoin will allow more people to wake up as it's continually adopted. It's not 100% but it allows people the freedom to choose. The sad realization is there's a lot of people today that will choose to outsource their thinking.
Thank God my setup is in the garage. Always hated the crowds in January... Even though 95% of them are gone by February.
