cashu.me now has NFC support on Android – try it out!
To send:
- tap send, ecash, enter amount
- in the token QR screen, tap the NFC button
- touch NFC card -> token is now stored on the card 💥
To receive:
- tap receive, ecash, nfc
- touch NFC card -> boom 💥
If you install cashu.me as a PWA (which you definitely should!) you can tap the card with your Android at any time and it will prompt you to open the cashu.me wallet to receive the token. Tip: Choose to "always open with cashu.me" for a quicker UX!
nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg If I send someone ecash, do I have to tell him which mint I used so he or she can add this mint to his or her wallet?
It says which mint it's from inside the ecash token

SIM: silent.link + cloakedwireless.com
they should!
amethyst has edits. edits are great. which other client has edits?
I hope someone will use Cashu for a made-up in-game currency one day. It would be perfect.
👋 Hello, Nostr!
Since we are new here, let us tell you more about what we are doing and how we are 🍊💊'ing the world.
We’re currently running the Plan ₿ Tech School—an 8-week premium course for developers. Students learn from top #Bitcoin professionals, compete through assignments and the top 21 earn a spot in a week-long in person bootcamp to collaborate, network and prepare to be new Bitcoin devs! 🚀
This week featured three really cool masterclasses:🎓✨
🛠️ First, @danielabrozzoni, Bitcoin dev, showed students how easy it can be to contribute to Bitcoin via open source.
A key takeaway from her session:💡 Grants can empower developers with freedom to innovate, but they also bring responsibility. https://m.primal.net/MvEY.mov
☠️ Next was Peter Todd, delivering "Bitcoin is Doomed," he unpacked technical challenges and trade-offs in Bitcoin's design.
In his session, a standout moment was one of his main concerns:
"I honestly worry about dependencies," he shared, and went deep into challenges and incentives within Bitcoin's protocol. https://m.primal.net/MvEa.mov
⚡ Then Tadge Dryja, coauthor of the Lightning Network White Paper, closed the week exploring the intricacies of scaling Bitcoin with the Lightning Network & even a masterclass on DLCs!
A not so shocking insight was that fears of legal repercussions are holding back further advancements in DLC technology.

🔥 A week packed with high-quality Bitcoin content comes to a close!
Now, it's time for the students to roll up their sleeves, apply their knowledge and keep building on their assignments.
Let's see what they create next! 💻✨
I'm looking forward to the lecture I'm giving there next week. Happy to support initiatives that train new open-source Bitcoin devs, you're doing Satoshi's work 🙏
Number of devs go up!

I wish you could cycle through the mullvad account as often as you like using blind signatures, or transfer your balance. Recently had a conversation with the CEO about this.

Tucker Carlon was stellar in that interview
"Hmmm *tucker face*, I absolutely believe everything you say and I'm not going to question it at all because I'm good a journalist!"
If you're interested in Cashu development, please get a Matrix client if you don't have one yet (for example Element) and join our new Matrix server. Matrix is self-sovereign, supports encryption, is open source, and is very cypherpunk. Most of our dev talk is already happening there.
We're going to nuke our Discord server very soon. Join us there, to stay in touch and to learn more about Cashu!

Yes you're probably right, RSS isn't dead. I think I wanted to say "nobody uses RSS anymore" (which is also not true).
The way billionaires pay or avoid taxes is really different from people who work for a living or even the “normal” wealthy millionaires. nostr:npub19fwwstv5dg8qsmuj9rmgf98nt9lfz5gvv67jqx6y9jtgekpcz5pqpgulzp has a great investigative piece based on a major leak of billionaires tax returns from the IRS.

I love bridged news accounts like these. So much stuff that I would miss if I didn't see mirrored content on nostr. Hope to see more like it!
Yep, to lock a coin, you must burn one that you have, and in turn you create one that is locked – you must be online and communicate with the mint to do that.
Similar to sending your bitcoin into an address (that's only spendable by the receiver).
Interesting detail: the mint doesn't see what you're locking the token to, the token (and its locking script) is blinded when you do. Upon spending the coin (i.e. unlocking it), the mint sees the script it's locked to.
Soon TM we want to add zk-scripts so that the mint doesn't even see the unlocking script anymore. 2 weeks
