Well, I said "might" for a reason
With all the genetic engineering big corps have been doing, its kinda weird no one's tried crossing a lizard with a bat...
Something I've been curious about - do devs have to report to the typical moronic middle managers that have inserted themselves into seemingly every industry? Cuz I could totally understand if managers are orchestrating the creeping enshitification of software.
Real security is grounded in physical things. The real world is where the cost of violence is imposed.
Age teaches you that alllllllllllllllllllllll the stuff you chased a decade ago was garbage.
Eh... That's literally the only piece of evidence I had before making my bombastic prediction. Grain of salt... Still...
Ironic. You know next to nothing about me, but assume something about my worldview. In my experience, communists make the grandest assumptions. Don't bother replying - you're blocked.

Cancer's primary fuel is glucose.
It loves it so much that when oncologists want to find where the cancer is in someone's body, they inject them with a glucose solution, and watch where it goes, because the cancer cells suck it all up and devour it!
Yet cancer patients are still told to eat all the carbohydrates they want, which ALL break down into glucose in the body.
Do you see the problem here?
There's some kind of conspiracy against humanity going on, originating at the top of society and directing education and media. Idk anything other than that, but that I know for sure.
Excellent. Thanks, I'll start researching these

Give this a listen before ditching them. Just my two sats. There might be another more current episode but Iirc, this covers their shift to support as a service. Hardware is a hard business to sustain and scale.
I'll give it a listen. I don't want to ditch them... I love it, built it myself, and it was my first successful electronics DIY... So my relationship with that black box in my closet is deeper than with any other possession. But I've learned to pay attention to these things. The quality of a product only ever takes a hit, even a tiny hit, when the company isn't doing well.
Today Start9 Support begins migrating away from Telegram and onto a private, self-hosted Matrix. We will cease providing support on Telegram on November 30.
In order to gain access to this community, you will need the Redemption Code included with your server purchase, usually a sticker on the underside of the device. If you do not have a redemption code, for example DIY users, you can purchase one for $100 from our store. This code gets you lifetime membership to the server.
- YOUR REDEMPTION CODE CAN ONLY BE USED ONCE
- DO NOT SHARE IT WITH ANYONE
- IF SOMEONE ASKS YOU FOR YOUR CODE, THEY ARE A SCAMMER

Always watch for these little red flags. Moving away from telegram us reasonable, but charging money for customer support is a sign of weakness. I predict the end of Start9... there's always these little signs when a company is starting to die.
So... I guess I'm looking for an alternative. Any suggestions?
Doesn't matter. Lawyers' services are a completely different product and it has no bearing whatsoever on a choice to use start9's product. You've created an incentive for yourself to reduce the quality of your guides, which I'll say are top notch, but I have to doubt they will be going forward. And you could have chosen nostr for support, or anything. There are options.
Just be sure the latest version of startos is freely available before you go out of business. No need to waste your efforts.

$100 to buy a code...
This *might* be where I start to migrate away from start9.

If you know anyone who is still fooled by the "plant milk" scam...
Might want to let them know that they are actually poisoning themselves with toxic chemical slop
I know someone who fell for that.
Devs are dangerous to stuff that already works. Almost every (maybe every) program or website that I initially liked has been turned into unusable junk by all the additional features they've added over time.
As they say in engineering (real engineering): "don't fix what ain't broken."
I bet that alabaster jar was red... 🤔
