How deep do you WANT to go?

...how deep are you WILLING to go?

.....how deep can you go before it breaks you?

When did I or this article make that claim? Or maybe you should clarify what you think I'm saying here because it looks like you're talking past me without understanding my message.

If you pay attention to what I've said in the past, you'd find that I say the system we have now is the SAME one as the British Empire of that time, but evolved. I've also stated elsewhere that the United States had been infiltrated from the very beginning, prominently by Hamilton but also by bankers and others, that have worked to corrupt the American government and monetary systems. Nowhere did I ever claim that the USA "brought down" the British Empire.

The reason for the American Revolution was not a rebellion over taxes on tea, it was against a totalitarian government in Britain which had claimed power over the colonies "in all cases whatsoever".

This is the very same usurpation of power that the United States government is making, but with more sleight of hand.

Zelensky Signs Law Allowing Ukrainians Over 60 To Join The Military

Ukrainians https://www.kyivpost.com/post/57177

and older can now serve in non-combat roles thanks to new legislation. The elderly Ukrainians will need special approval and get medical clearance before enlisting.

The law was passed by the Ukrainian legislature earlier this month and signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday, allowing people over the age of 60 to serve in limited roles until martial law in Ukraine is lifted.

?itok=kuetXAkQ

While the current martial law authorization is set to lapse next month, Zelensky has requested that lawmakers extend it for an https://www.aa.com.tr/en/world/zelenskyy-submits-draft-bills-to-parliament-on-extending-ukraine-s-martial-law-mobilization/3630347

. Zelensky’s presidential term has already expired, and he has used martial law to remain in office.

Zelensky signed the law increasing the age limit as Ukraine continues to struggle with manpower in the war with Russia. Last year, Ukraine lowered its draft age from 27 to 25, but has resisted calls from the US to drop it to 18.

According to the https://www.kyivpost.com/topic/verkhovna-rada

, the law was returned with the president’s signature on Tuesday, July 29. Parliament had passed the legislation on Wednesday, July 16.

The law applies exclusively to volunteers – there is no provision for compulsory service in this age group.

Under the updated Law “On Military Duty and Military Service,” citizens aged 60+ can now enlist under contract during martial law, provided they are deemed medically fit by a military commission and have written consent from a unit commander.

earlier this month that her country was facing a severe manpower shortage, saying, "Our main problem is people. Nobody is giving us people."

The MP said that even if President Donald Trump sent more weapons to Ukraine, the "war cannot last forever." Over the past years, older men have been spotted among military ranks, leading to questions over just how desperate Ukrainie's military recruiters have become.

I never cared for Alex Berenson pretty much as soon as I got whiff of his personality. I'm kind of surprised that Dave Smith let him get under his skin so much.

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but:

Apple, Microsoft, OpenAI, Meta; these companies all think that they must be first to secure the whole pie. This is nihilistic Malthusian thinking and tells you of the parasitic nature of these companies. They do not see a truly open access AI with decentralized computing as a win, because it doesn't give them control.

For the self-sovereign, these are your enemies. They will not enter into business deals or vendor/client relationships for mutual benefit, such propositions to them are only stepping stones to wresting more power and control to themselves. Act accordingly.

nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzqq2r33hnq39nwl5pe2wcf5hyceyyep0su9cfh2ajjhlp6gclsul0qqszrfdmkfp53awugwdr6m747yhyy55ya75s9us8a3a6he87uecdv4c2tpds4

That just gives people hope that government will safeguard their rights, something that it has already repeatedly demonstrated that it won't do.

No, the solution is decentralized tech and individuals taking control of their own rights. Though if they want to make their own declarations as individuals that they will not recognize laws and actions that infringe on these rights, that would still be culturally meaningful.

As an alternative to a state funded autoshop class, how about something like a makerspace/autoshop business model where members have access to the tools and can take classes to learn about different car systems?

There are a couple of small creators that I support who use PayPal, but I don't use it for anything else.

Stuff like this makes me think that I should tell them to get set up with a Bitcoin wallet or they life my support because I will refuse to do any further business through companies that impose tyranny.

There will be that, and there will be (and already are, I'm sure) efforts to undermine and to co-opt this space as it continues to demonstrate potential to offer not only alternatives but a full parallel internet.

I'll have to try it out! I check URLs automatically anyways but for most users I assume they could use something like this so that they can just share content without needing to really think about is (since that's what most people do by default).

Exactly, it's like a grandma that nags you for having poor manners... and I'm thankful for it!

Some of these make sense, many make sense for AI to be used as a productivity tool for, and many of them you would have to be an idiot to uncritically outsource entirely to AI. And I bet we'll see many test cases of all three.

Who else habitually removes tracking from copied URLs as a result of sharing links on Nostr?

Definition of "fraud" not withstanding, no don't commit fraud of any sort.

But I think the decision to charge taxes on your products needs to soberly assessed when you know how that tax money gets used.

The requirement is being pressed onto your customers by the government, and they won't blame you for it. Nor do I, but I stand by my statement regarding the tax itself.

What you decide, and how you go about it, is up to you. And last point, I believe, is within the ethos of Bitcoin.

The more frequencies the better. BT phones is fine since that's built in, but I'd like to get away from these highly bio-disrupting frequencies if we can.

Truth, we were in Nashville at the same time and there wasn't anything Bitcoin related happening, so we had our own impromptu meetup.

Me too! And as I said, I'm happy to plan or help plan future meetups.

Is that a sheep, or a bulldog?

This demo is all local mesh, the phones are communicating directly via Bluetooth.

To talk to someone in another country will still require internet.

I'm writing this note using the FUTO keyboard. So far, nice!

I've been getting a kick out of listening to Kurt Metzger lately. Especially when he's a guest on a podcast to talk about conspiracies

Yo, any Nostr projects to set up a marketplace that could be competitive against Amazon, Etsy, or Facebook Marketplace?

I know of a few but I don't think they are (or intend to be) competitive at scale, but I want to see what others might know about.

til:

annunaki is from anu na ki, anu is the god of heaven, ki is the earth, and anunaki means the people born of this coupling

this is the same as what is described in Genesis (all versions) and Enoch talking about ... well, enoch goes into quite some detail about this. but the point is that the descendants of these "annunaki" are among us even today.

the greeks described it with different names, titania and ouranos, and gaia, gaia is the "earth" and titania was the mother of the titans, or the atlantean people

they are basically talking about the same thing, this happened about 15000 years ago. also in the book of jasher you can read quite a detailed description that sounds a lot like adam (and his study partner eve) were invited to be students in an agricultural research/education facility, a university, that they called the garden of eden.

then there is the "war in heaven" and next thing you know there is all the empires and kingdoms in the middle east, enslaving the people to work the fields and produce the beer and bread for the gods. since that's what the governments they formed claimed to be.

i find the part of this video that gives the impression as though the impactors of the post-pole-shift/geomagnetic/solar superflare/micronova disasters tedious, because ... simply, this phenomenon CAUSES the formation of impactors. and of course the legacy continues, the whole asteroid belt is composed of these small to medium sized big rocks, mostly under a kilometer in diameter. this is not the centre of the story. they cannot drive the ocean over most of the earth. that could only happen if the earth's crust slips.

anyway.

https://youtu.be/j-9sdw0Ooes

i need to finish watching the rest of this.

i'm also now hmmmmm about both the catholic church and the order of freemasons. (not particularly down on either side but a lot of stuff about illuminati and free masons and the whole fraud of baphomet and all this stuff, and omg the amount of crazy things you can draw further from that).

anyhow. i made the AI write me code and the AI couldn't make the code test properly. so, haha. lol. it could do a simple fetch by ID after i gave it most of the material how to store events by ID. but it can't do a filter, based on the indexes i designed for it.

that's fine, really, i probably could have implmented the algorithm myself in the time if i hadn't been watching this video lol. tomorrow i will do that.

the rest of my evening will be this video and then i'm gonna hit the sack

Crustal displacement, while well supported by evidence, is still outside of the Overton Window in the realm of archeology and geology. I think that because of this, people who either don't understand the arguments or care more about others' opinions of them refuse to entertain the ideas.

Most humans are highly susceptible to "social proofs" that may have only some connection to the truth (in the form of a "load-bearing myth", to borrow Daryll Cooper's term) and will completely disregard even the best supported evidence to the contrary if it means social consequence.

Thiel Joins Luckey & Lonsdale To Launch New Bank Aimed At Filling SVB Void For Stablecoins, AI, Defense & Advanced Manufacturing

Thiel Joins Luckey & Lonsdale To Launch New Bank Aimed At Filling SVB Void For Stablecoins, AI, Defense & Advanced Manufacturing

A group of high-profile tech investors, including military tech entrepreneur Palmer Luckey and venture capitalist Joe Lonsdale, is preparing to launch a new bank designed to serve the niche left behind by the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank — and to do so with ambitions that extend deep into cryptocurrency, defense tech, and artificial intelligence.

?itok=SL3rATW1

The bank, to be called Erebor, has formally applied for a national banking charter in the United States, according to documents made public this week. Named after the “Lonely Mountain” in The Lord of the Rings, Erebor would aim to serve the "innovation economy" - start-ups and individuals in sectors often viewed as too risky for traditional lenders, including blockchain, AI, defense, and advanced manufacturing.

Erebor’s founders, who include backers of Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential bid, say their institution will fill a gap left by SVB’s 2023 collapse, which shook the tech sector’s financial infrastructure. That failure triggered panic among start-ups, many of which relied heavily on SVB’s tailored credit offerings. Though SVB’s remnants were absorbed by First Citizens and some staff migrated to HSBC, entrepreneurs and investors continue to complain of tightened credit access and fewer bank partners willing to underwrite emerging technologies, https://www.ft.com/content/8c903f2e-42a6-496b-b098-ca733f340ffc

reports.

Erebor’s co-founders first discussed launching a bank after the collapse of SVB in 2023, according to a person close to the matter. SVB had been the main bank for US start-ups and their venture capital backers.

Its assets were sold to First Citizens, which has since relaunched SVB, and a number of its bankers moved to HSBC in the US. But investors and executives complain about a gap in banking services for fledgling tech companies since SVB’s demise — with some start-ups struggling to get the same access to capital. -FT

The application describes Erebor as “a national bank… providing traditional banking products, as well as virtual currency-related products and services, for businesses and individuals,” with a focus on customers underserved by both traditional and fintech institutions. It will also offer services to non-U.S. companies seeking access to the American banking system.

One of the bank’s major innovations, and potential regulatory flashpoints, is its plan to become a dominant player in stablecoin transactions, a controversial corner of the cryptocurrency world where digital tokens are pegged to traditional currencies like the U.S. dollar. Erebor’s filing describes its goal as becoming “the most regulated entity conducting and facilitating stablecoin transactions.”

Founders Luckey, best known for founding Anduril Industries, and Lonsdale, a co-founder of Palantir and managing partner of 8VC, are not expected to be involved in Erebor’s day-to-day operations. Instead, the bank will be led by co-CEOs Jacob Hirshman, a former adviser to crypto firm Circle, and Owen Rapaport, CEO of digital assets compliance company Aer. Mike Hagedorn, a longtime banking executive and former EVP at Valley National Bank, will serve as president.

Despite its tech-forward posture, Erebor will be headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, with a secondary office in New York City. In keeping with the start-up culture it hopes to serve, Erebor will be a digital-only bank, offering customer support and financial products exclusively through a smartphone app and website.

Much about Erebor remains under wraps. Portions of the application, including its equity structure, business plan, and shareholder identities, were submitted confidentially.

The Erebor venture underscores the ongoing realignment of financial services in the tech sector, as traditional banks grow more cautious and venture-backed firms look to build their own institutions. Whether Erebor succeeds where SVB fell — and whether its fusion of crypto, defense, and Silicon Valley politics finds regulatory favor — remains to be seen. For now, its founders are betting there’s a mountain of opportunity left to reclaim.

Sounds like a perfect investment for the antichrist.

Has anyone found a good brand of swim trunks and/or another sort of active shorts that aren't made of polyester? Natural fibers always preferred, will consider viscose or similar in the meantime.
