Q: Why do I get a generic 422 "fuck off" error when transferring literally any of my bitcoin to an external wallet.

Paypal support:

Upon checking your account, I see here that you are connected to a Private network or VPN that is preventing you to do you crypto transfer.

If you are logging in from a new location or country, this may initially be considered a risk to your account, as it would be inconsistent with your previous activity. If your action is being prevented, reattempting your transfer later would be best.

Please make sure you are connected to a local network.

PayPal? Yeah, that seems about right ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜” unfortunately.

Lmao worst company ever.

Fuckers. Get that shit outta there custody and be done with them!

So here's the thing right. We all have to choose a KYC platform to purchase sats at a reasonable price, and I was able to bypass the KYC nonsense like 8 years ago with PayPal with some phone calls. It's been grandfathered ever since. I've tried signing up for new platforms but the KYC is far more annoying, and they use known leaky big tech tools to collect KYC information.

That said, i've had issues with them for a long time, so I only have small amounts on there at a time.

I shared this, because it's the first time ive had repeated issues moving ANY funds, plus they said "give us your IP address and physical location we _know_ you have one"

That said, know any platforms _that you would actually use_ to purchase sats, that I don't have to upload my DL, Passport, and FULL bank statement to? I tried to use well-known platform where I tried redacting bank transactions because GFY but they got upset and closed my application.

P2P, baby. Robosats. Be a maker. Set the order to 0% premium and wait. Up to $500 at a time. Use a custodial LN wallet like WoS, because it's reliable, and boltz to swap to cold storage. Optional: use Liquid (Blockstream app) in between for even better privacy and smaller swap fees on boltz. Sounds like a hassle? Worth it.

Agree almost everything except the custodial part ๐Ÿคจ

Reliable, cheap and easy to use. Always a transit vehicle, never a storage place.

Thanks for that.

I get it. I pay for a Fold membership, because the sats and lack of fees pays for itself.

The crutch to buying #bitcoin without permission has got to be fixed.

That being said, as long as you move it to #coldstorage, who cares how you got it, they canโ€™t touch it!

KYC/AML is the end boss as your dollar fights its way to freedom

I hear you. Revolut has been decent to me (so far) I use it for smaller buys on hodlhodl or as mentioned earlier robosats.
