chronic early adopter of decentralized tech :)

In practice, is this basically moderated hashtags?

Do your posts to a “community” also show up on your own timeline?

Like many people, I had to believe in it when I started noticing the patterns myself.

Best book I can recommend for no-nonsense non-ideological modern astrology is Heaven Knows What by Grant Lewi, also Astrology for the Millions by Grant Lewi

It would be really easy to fly under the radar on Nostr. Have a personal account where you only ever follow your IRL friends. Just a small group talking to each other, not interacting with randoms, never touched by content discovery/recommendation systems

What are the chances that Elon is conducting some esoteric fraud right now?

Some way to write off advertising losses in taxes because of “involuntary technical issues” etc

You follow 400 people. I’m sure some of those people post a lot and some post a little.

The only way to keep up is to have some kind of algorithm right? Or what is your usage like?

Most liked from my friends of friends is amazing for content discovery. I don’t understand why people are against algorithms. They’re are only bad if they’re a mystery

You need something like Nostore (iOS) or Alby browser extension to manage the login I think

“He who can destroy a thing has the real control of it”

Exactly!! It’s why users don’t “control” their own data on Nostr.

It would enable clients to be lighter weight. Like middleware in between your relays and clients. Or kinda like a push notification system that knows what you’ve already seen maybe

I added a "Delete" button to nostr:npub1w0rthyjyp2f5gful0gm2500pwyxfrx93a85289xdz0sd6hyef33sh2cu4x and now I feel dirty helping perpetrate the illusion that you can ever really delete something on the internet

I'm tempted to at least put "Delete" on the menu (with quotes) 😅

"Request deletion" feels way too long

Technically every action on Nostr is simply a “request” that may or may not be honored. In a similar way, “post” is not guaranteed either.

With that in mind, I think it just needs more education and reframing

You used to be able to do that on Sia’s Skynet too. Use a pinned version of a web app. It solved the issue people have with web apps where you could get surprise updates.

Do you need to run the server as well for mutiny wallet or can you just host the client somewhere?

Couldn’t you pin Mutiny wallet to something like IPFS and run the pinned version from there? No risk to surprise updates then?

When you’re acting like a jackass, yes I am going to call you out on that. And you were.

I was asking NostrReport what they felt they were missing to be able to work natively on Nostr. I didn’t know you already connected with someone. How would I possibly know that unless you told me??

Check your ego, dude. Not everyone is always out to get you.

Instead of blindly trusting Yelp, we should trust those that have earned our trust (neighbor, co-worker, friends, family, etc).

Nostr lets us move away from platform curation to human curation.
