Getting escrow added to nostr:npub15dc33fyg3cpd9r58vlqge2hh8dy6hkkrjxkhluv2xpyfreqkmsesesyv6e is definitely a priority; it would make the UX almost completely seamless and familiar for newer users. BitEscrow would make this 10x easier, but they currently don’t have Lightning support (once it’s released, though, that will be a game changer). We’ve been ideating on using Cashu mints or HODL invoices; currently just testing what works best.

I’m personally very excited by the amount of jobs the escrow services would be able to provide. Tons of stay at home job opportunities for people

BitEscrow has released their API and docs very recently. Should make it easier

nostr:npub16dhgpql60vmd4mnydjut87vla23a38j689jssaqlqqlzrtqtd0kqex0nkq how does it work today? How often do rugpulls happen, and how do you prevent?

How does it work today? Transactions are final. There are no protections

So buyers and sellers don’t get screwed over.

Fundamentally, EBay and Amazon are escrow services that protect buyers and sellers from abuse.

Has development on Nostr marketplace continued?

Community Notes is by far the best thing about Twitter today

They could be more than websites even. Check out the Open Canvas Working Group https://x.com/orionreedone/status/1768292314802201087?s=46

Now? Nothing. Maybe lightning via chaumian mints.

Ark might be better later on though https://arkdev.info/docs/

nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z does Amethyst have a sticker feature? It would be really nice to not have to host the same reaction images 800 times. But I’m not seeing any clients that have stickers. Is amethyst the only one?

It’s about taking steps to earn trust. Open Sourcing the code is one step, yes. Because you’re allowing people to run their own code if they want to. But like U said above there are other ways of earning trust if you don’t want to open source code.

It’s not “all or nothing” with trust. If you hide your identity, have a scammy website, AND don’t share the code… well that’s three strikes in terms of earning trust

The idea to have some way to distinguish AI from human is a good one though. That’s not saying AI is bad, just good to clearly mark it

Many people are quite excited by the notion of “total freedom” to say anything and act however they want, not knowing that everyone is muting them because their speech and behavior is abhorrent
