GM and Happy Halving Day!

Yep. How else could one explain all the mass in the universe coming into being from a singular point of infinite mass. Someone just booted up a program. A lot more plausible I think.

I hear you man. I feel I’m pretty much at the top of my game experience- and knowledge-wise. My close rate on sales is exceptional. Customer service issues near zero. I’ve built and implemented the business processes that nearly every dollar that flows into my current employer’s company passes through. I’ve introduced and trained staff on software and project management tools that have leveraged everyone in the organization’s time by 2x. I’m currently getting stonewalled on negotiated quarterly profit sharing bonuses that would offset inflation to a great degree, and certainly more than the first (and only) 2.9% insult of a raise I got at the end of year 3. All of this while the company continues to make large non essential capital purchases to erase anything I could point to as net profit. If there were an abundance of other competitive opportunities up here I would have jumped ship long ago.

I’ve understood for a while now that employment has now just become a great way to stay on zero (or backslide into credit debt by half a grand per month). Employment in this country has been a hamster wheel for a long time. Running really hard and not moving forward. Now it’s a hamster wheel sliding backwards down a 6-12% incline.

I’m working on a sideline while I still have the energy to work a ten hour day AND stay up half the night creating content and tools. I’m done building other people’s empires.

Friday to Monday prepping project. 5 smoked turkey carcasses, 5 pounds of fried sliced turkey breast, 5 sautéed onions, 25 sautéed carrots, and 15 sautéed celery sticks yielded 3 gallons of frozen, vacuum sealed turkey soup “slabs” and 14 quarts of pressure canned smoked turkey broth for later recipes. I would have liked to freeze dry some of the soup, but just working with freezing and vacuum sealing technology atm. Hoping to raise the $ for a HarvestRight freeze dryer soon and start assembling five gallon food grade pails of Mylar bagged emergency provisions for sale at the local farmers market. But until then, just laying up what I can for the family for the year ahead. https://video.nostr.build/60cd7a7b2ca29191fd33848cb20a2072c4f67a9e7f6df1df07b0cf55726d7a6b.mp4

And the hidden tax of the real inflation rate which has been running 12-16% annually where I live for the past 3 years. The former middle class are going to start missing meals soon. Then people might wake up.

That’s not including the taxes you’re paying on purchases with already taxed dollars, and your payroll deductions for social security and other benefits you’ll never see. It’s more in the order of 50%

Just got done rewatching the 1980’s miniseries and hoping to catch the remix. Is it decent?

If you do a lot of solo riding a ways from home, I highly recommend carrying a GPS capable phone, an extra spark plug, plug wrench, basic tools, hydration pack, a couple of energy bars, Israeli dressing, combat application tourniquet, compact foil emergency blanket and a road flare for starting fire. And let someone know your approximate destination and when they should consider you “overdue”. Learned a few of these the hard way. And a lot of riding boots, while pretty much essential armour for protecting your lower legs from impalement from objects and footpegs, aren’t fun putting miles on foot. Been saved a few times by a chest plate and helmet too. 🤙🏽
