I grew up in South Africa. Without social security. And our farmer community had perfect social security. Mothers raised children. Grandparents lived in homesteads with their families. The Zulu workers had their own homes and communities on our lands and their children got educated by our local homeschooling system.

Then the communist regime took over and started redistribution in the name of social security and welfare.
