Recovering egotist stuck in the rabbit hole.

I quiet-quit LinkedIn a few years ago. My next step will be to announce that I no longer engage there, and will post where folks can find me (Nostr, my websites, etc.). LinkedIn will do that for free for me.

I don't yet see why I need to delete my account, but maybe that will come to me later. On the other hand, I may continue to use such systems for more B2B engagement while not treating those systems as "the system".

I consider Twitter/X to be in the same category and am now moving my attention to #Nostr.

Someday, ideally sooner than later, #bitcoin will truly become recognizable money throughout the vast majority of the world.

This day is not today, but its coming is inevitable.

I have now pinpointed your location to be in the heart of redneck America ;-)

GM, happy what is supposed to be a week off. “Fiat mines”, I’m going to steal that ;-)

I didn’t mean to take anything away from the substance, and just wanted to make it perfect for your next iteration.

Choose wisely: Orange or Black

I tried to give you 2 fucks but I have not yet figured out how to zap using the Primal web client and I'm not about to pull up my mobile app just to give 2 fucks. In the end, I couldn't give 2 fucks.

"The problem with subscription besides forgetting to cancel..."

Come on, if you can deal with Nostr you can figure out how to set a reminder for yourself to cancel. Still, I agree with the sentiment that it should be much more common to select 'do not auto-renew'.

"...is that it assumes you’re getting continuous value out of the product. When in reality you may want to use something here and there a few times when needed."

This is exactly the case for subscribing for just 1 month! I do this all the time and end up saving money over the long-term.

"One time with paid upgrades is better."

No, not for all scenarios as I mentioned. Spending less is better.

Imagine wishing the same for your electric bill. It would be prohibitively expensive.

The same applies for most customers of paid apps. Charging a reasonable subscription allows the app to reach a broader audience and establishes a sustainable path for the creator.

I am happy to pay a monthly fee so that I remain a customer and not a product. This is far more important IMO.

Reminds me of this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOsqqIMeYHM&t=3319s

They'll pay you by the hour

All these men with power

They'll make you run, they'll make you crawl

Can't wait for you to slip and fall

Let it out tonight

Just get it out,

Let it out tonight

Hello insane, just pour it out

Let it out tonight

Just let it out,

Let it out tonight

Lose yourself, just get it out

Whistles blow and the torches glow, can you see it in your head

A final fix and then one last pick before it all turns red

Pretty, passed out on the floor

People passing door to door

Pillowcases made of snow

It's way much colder than before

Let it out tonight

Just let it out,

Let it out tonight

Lose yourself, just let it out

So let it out tonight

Just let it out,

Let it out tonight

Lose yourself, just let it out

Whistles blow and the torches glow, can you see it in your head

A final fix and then one last pick before it all turns red

Whistles blow and the torches glow, can you see it in your head

A final fix and then one last pick before it all turns red

Let it out tonight

Just let it out,

Let it out tonight

Lose yourself, just let it out

So let it out tonight

Just let it out,

Let it out tonight

Lose yourself, just let it out

Whoops, looks like the time parameter wasn't included in the link I copied (or it was dropped)?

Jump to 55:20 for the song Let It Out

Oh Man, this is my first *real* week on Nostr and saw that video just today.

I was scared, especially after I heard a hint of Boston in there.

Peace, freedom, money, and time to pursue happiness with loved ones.

Takes more work than I'd like at the moment, although the Strike Billpay announcement/capability is a step forward. Still trying to extricate myself from my personal checking account...
