No I think my step brother was with me. I could be wrong, but we had walked to the park for another reason and I broke away from the group or whatever and detoured to the vending machine. It's hard to say. I was pretty lach key growing up but it was summer and that usually meant my step brother was around and we did almost everything together during that time.
I have this recurring memory from when I was in third grade or so and I managed to walk to the park and buy a cherry coke for 50 cents from an outside vending machine and was so fuckin' happy to have accomplished that.
