Yes, exactly. Certainly for users that prefer that version of finding signal.

If you look in the Feed Filters section at the top of your feed you can already set things to show in that specific way. But the reliability is poor at the moment.

You're right, the domination of NOSTR by BTC guys means we can't rely on them for any help. Actually we need to absorb or branch off from their stuff - and run all our own infrastructure. So that's the approach I'm taking.

It's easier to build starting with a passionate community, and then sway over larger apps like Signal I agree with you on that point as well. Good to see alignment there.

BChat can be switched off in Settings, so people who find it distracting can use that.

BChat IS adding BCH to NOSTR, that's the whole point. It runs on NOSTR backend. Yes, there are thousands of apps, but if the BCH community does not have its own venue for discussion than it will 100% guaranteed eventually be censored or manipulated by outsiders - that has been seen over and over again. Also, BChat drives non trivial transaction volume, even with its small community, which is something the BCH community desperately needs to find a way to do.

I do agree we need to find ways so that it doesn't become a circlejerk of BCH users telling each other how great they are. No free tips stops it being about beggars, but we need to raise the discussion further than BCH alone over time anyway.

Multisig, vaults & so forth for security are also something we are thinking about quite seriously. But it's a big development effort, may be superceded by the imminent XO templates, and it's only relevant to a far smaller pool of dedicated users (not the average person being onboarded to BCH).

We will add @tags for users. I think some kind of "topic" or hashtag implementation would also be very useful, as with a growing volume of content people will need to be able to browse specific subsections or themes.

Yes, we are slowly building out everything on our own infrastructure as much as possible.

Can't leave any room for us to be rugged.

I put out another release of BChat in the morning (v30/01 00:30).

Will probably be a couple of days before I do another one. If you have any really high priority requests, leave them here for consideration in that release.

I already know image support has been requested a lot, as well as better feed mix of replies and remembering scroll position in the feed.

In "Settings > advanced settings" you can change your Electrum server to something else.

I'm thrilled to have our first non BChat customer service discussion here on BChat! Soon it'll be the go-to place for BCH users to get help on all their BCH products. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

Do you mean: Cashonize, or Selene?

Selene should automatically swap to a new Fulcrum server on issues with the currently selected one.

I am seeing an issue on app.selene.cash just now but it might be unrelated, a new tab is fine. Cashonize is also fine, even on that Fulcrum server you mentioned.

Nope! Posts can now be up to 2 000 characters, but will truncate after 300 for display in the feed.

NOSTR has two different forms of support for encrypted messages, that's something we'll look into. There might be a better way to do it, but DMs is a great feature idea!

It changes too fast to really make sense to have a dedicated roadmap. I literally just power through as much feedback and my own ideas as I can whenever I sit down to code.

That said, a list of some of the upcoming tickets from user feedback is here:

Yes, there's not really any improvements to the feed or post archiving or anything like that in this release. I have good news though! I am working on better post discovery and a custom algorithm for the very next release ๐Ÿ˜. So hang tight! Coming soon.

Kind of amazing there are still as many AI doubters as there are, but they'll try this stuff and get it sooner or later.

Thank you for being one of our early awesome users!

The stumbling blocks and frustrations you persist through and give feedback on is what lets us make it better so that everyone else arrives to a slick & amazing app!๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ
