I just got a call from my bank. Asking me, if I wanted to sit down with them to discuss my financial options, and I basically just told them they are a stepping stone for me to get to Bitcoin, and I just used them as an on-ramp.

When it comes to all fiction you consume (books, shows, movies), do you tend to remember the villain or the hero more, many years later?

Here are some variables to consider:

-Characters and concepts that stuck with you personally, for years.

-Memorable quotes or images.

-Iconic characters. Archetypes. Things you want to replicate.

-Roles that were so fucking well-acted that it can't be topped, and thus brought out the full complexity of the character.

Clarifications prior to answering:

-Villains include very bad folks that turn good at the end (e.g. Darth Vader). Partial goodness is often part of good villain design.

-Heroes include clear anti-heroes from the first act of the story (e.g. Han Solo). Partial badness is often part of good hero design.

I find it odd that most of western culture tries to ignore/avoid the topic of death. Many other cultures have seen it as natural, and embraced the fact.

I’m a sometimes regular at a local bar restaurant.

Tonight’s story & some others regarding a certain bartender.

Man at bar: “So is your real name Kitty?”

Her: (condescending per usual) now why would I name myself that? (smirk)

Some people find this amusing. I’ve always found her to be a piece of trash human malingering as a decent human. She’s consistently rude to others & I avoid the bar whenever she’s around. Cause her energy is that of evil.

Also long ago got to hear her say things like: “Of course, he likes her. He always falls for crazy bitches & she’s absolutely insane.” & many other unkind comments about others. She absolutely shouldn’t be saying this about anyone when she’s paid to be a bartender. Unless it’s a biker bar or something where being rude to others is expected & encouraged.

First time I met this human: I ordered a drink from her & got a little tipsy 🥴 & she accused me of being on drugs. Me: I’m not on drugs ( wasn’t ) & rarely drink. I had been outside all day in the heat & was a bit dehydrated.

Her: rolled her scumbag eyes at me.

She is a prime example of #toxic behavior.

Not sure 🤔 if it’s … she’s like a demon.

Probably the best example is when I saw her crying cause she was going to he fired one time.

I sat there thinking: if they keep this piece of trash human on because she manipulates them with a sob story & tears then the owners are dumb.

Well, obviously she is still there.

Truth is, I don’t go to that place as often as I’d like because I absolutely avoid her like the plague.

If I were petty, I’d send this to the management but I’m not. She’s trash 🗑️ & she knows it. She gains nothing from being rude to others aside from making herself feel…. IDK 🤷🏻‍♀️ PLEASE don’t be like her. To anyone. The world is full of assholes but she’s a true cunt.

The Harry Potter series was an example where, whenever fans voted for their favorite character, it usually wasn't Harry Potter. He'd be in the runningb but not at the top.

Fans were like, "I mean, we all like Harry. But we don't necessarily *love* him. And he's not *fucking memorable*. He's kind of boring.

Many people instead preferred Snape, Hermione, Black, Dumbledore, Dobby, etc.

-The very deep anti-hero or pseudo-villain. Highly conflicted, dark, and emotional, but sides with good. (Snape)

-The smartest one that fixes everything. (The books were read by bookish types, and Hermione was their bookish character identifier.)

-The wise mentor. Usually among the strongest, but from the prior generation. The plot has to factor him/her out. (Dumbledore)

-The chad scary seeming-villain who is actually a hero. (Sirius)

-The ultra-weak character, with charisma and talents, that manipulates things around the margins and morally *has* to fucking win. (Dobby).
