NOSTR has incredibly interesting conversations. Since there is no "fact check" people will soon figure out that you can have real discussions about any topic of interest to you and you can decide who to listen to and who to ignore. You can decide who are the "experts" you trust and who you think is a shill. NOSTR can be extremely successful simply based on free speech! Free speech and freedom of the press are two concepts which have proven to have incredible power pulling people from all over the world to come to the U.S. to escape tyranny. It is ironic that currently there are large numbers of people in the U.S. who favor "censorship" of ideas they claim are harmful. These people have forgotten the lessons learned. People who have lived under communist dictatorships or other oppressive regimes are much stronger proponents of free speech and freedom of the press because they know the alternative. #freespeech #grownostr

Some poorly implemented clients will wipe your follows list completely. The main properly implemented clients do not have this issue. What client did you use which caused this problem?

It is worse because there are not many users on NOSTR right now. Once NOSTR gets to a critical mass it will be much better but at the moment NOSTR is not very well known #grownostr

One of the absolute best attributes of NOSTR is the lack of the "fact check". How absurd is it that the big social media companies allowed for third parties or their own employees to "fact check" things that people posted. Amazing that this was ever blindly accepted by so many people. I think we are well on our way to a healthy correction and people are waking up to the fact that the have been lied to by EVERYONE. NOSTR could be HUGE just by allowing people to have conversations without a fact check! Want to talk about the evil companies promoting pesticides and GMO crops? You can do that here and find out that there are thousands of like minded individuals who are taking matters into their own hands and raising chickens, growing gardens without pesticides, and other such "subversive" acts. Imagine growing a garden being considered subversive! Want to question the religion of Global Warming? Welcome! There are many scientists who are not on board with the global warming religion. Read a few books about plate tectonics and you might question the new religion yourself! Most scientists fall in lone because they don't want to cut off access to government funding which first requires that you pledge allegiance to the church. Want to question "the science", bring it on! There are many many articles published by the really NIH and the CDC which refute "the science". You don't have to agree with anyone who brings up these heretical ideas, but everyone who cares about freedom should recognize that being able to voice doubts about any "dogma" without fear of imprisonment or being "cancelled" is the basis for a free and healthy society.

It is dwindling because there is no PR campaign to promote NOSTR and the number of new users is dwindling. The last good PR was the Forbes article in May. NOSTR is the best kept secret in Social Networking! Anybody interested to pitch in for some good PR? How does it work?

Lack of users. Since the Forbes articles in May, NOSTR is not receiving any PR, so nobody knows about NOSTR. When Threads launched there were hundreds of articles which all mentioned BlueSky, Mastadon and even other more minor networks, but NONE of the articles mentioned NOSTR. Rather than spending money to build more and more and more, NOSTR needs to spend money getting the word out! Otherwise it will be the best kept secret and all the enthusiastic developers will realize that they have built really cool things for a audience of 10,000. Some people may be happy just creating something cool for a very small group but the reality is that everyone also has to eventually make money to support their families. We already see early adopters like Cameri leaving NOSTR because of economic hardship. If a hardcore person like Cameri can't afford to pay $300 a month for his relay, how many others are going to stick it out? #grownostr

Without blocking of users based on certain criteria (bots, child porn, etc) NOSTR would not be useable. This is simply reality. The good relays and the good clients are already blocking bots and awful content by the thousands. #grownostr.

If you use NOSTR.band you are already using a relay which auto bans massive numbers of users. This is why it is the best relay and used by 99% of NOSTR users. Wine also has sophisticated blocking. #grownostr

Relays are already blocking massive numbers of accounts. If they weren't NOSTR would be a spam filled wasteland. NOSTR.band has sophisticated spam filtering techniques based on pagerank type algorithms and "trusted" users. This is why their feed is basically "clean". Your question might be if relays will ban users based on the report from One other user, or based on multiple reports. I think relays and clients are already banning many users based on One or multiple reports. For instance Child Porn is banned instantly by any good client or relay. Clients or relays who don't ban criminal behaviour will not succeed. #grownostr
