bitcoin and freedom. Lightning is a settlement layer. My opinions do not reflect anyone but myself.

Also I think I would rather do what I am doing and be able to have a degoogled pixel on top of it. We all have our preferences.

Yes, a cheapo unlocked $50 android works too, or sim cycle with your higher end degoogled device. Not sure which way is best, but yep.

Just activated a $1 sim card with a fake name and with a visa gift card paid for with bitcoin. If you are not SIM cycling every couple months, you are putting yourself at risk. Bonus points if your device is degoogled. Especially if you are going to Nashville. protect your shit.

The fact Phoenix and CLN are using different BOLT12 implementations and can't pay one another is completely embarrassing.

GM, #nostr. KYC exchanges being regulated out of existence is good for #bitcoin. I'm voting for Joe.

Paying for the server resources you're using is part of the v4v eco-system. If you start streaming on Twitch today you wont be discovered for the next 12-18 months and you'll be most likely talking to yourself. Then you'll have to take their tax interview and KYC to get monetarised and then you have to build the audience to accumulate the viewership to make enough every month to meet their withdrawal limits. All of that while Twitch keeps taking 50% of the money people are donating to your channel to support you.

People can start building their presence on zapstream from 1 sat/min ($3.44 or 6,000 sats to stream 100/h). That's a very reasonable price to build a community, an audience and grow as a "content creator" or to stream for fun. While streaming at that price the streamer can restream to YT (and other sites) for free and YT will store your recordings for them forever, for free. Once the streamer starts earning sats they can then switch to a better plan on ZS if they like.

Building anything comes at a cost if that is money or your time or something else.

However, the reason why many people on nostr haven't been able to build up their channels is mainly because they lack consistency. They stream a few times (mostly without any concept or plan) then they just stop. The viewers are there, many of them but there isn't enough creators to provide more diverse content to speak to larger variety of nostr users. Meaning, I mostly chat and game during my streams and I average 10-30 viewers. 2/3 of them bounce after a short while because they may not be interested in my content and when they hit the home page they don't see other content making them bounce from the site. Meaning, there is enough consumers but not enough diverse content to keep them engaged.

However, expecting Kieran to cover the costs so other people can play around and have fun on his account is not the solution. The pricing and available streaming plans on ZS are cheap enough to let anyone stream in an attempt to build a community / following. Brings us back to the point of people expecting to get paid without putting in the PoW.

I totally get it but that's why I thought just piggy backing off of twitch or YouTube as an option via an embedded player nested in zap stream would be a good middle ground if it was possible.

Hey, #nostr, why is zap.stream dead every time I check it? It's such a cool idea but it's always dead. Is it because you have to pay to stream? I admit, paying to stream to zero people feels bad no matter the cost.

Maybe it's better to just embed a twitch or YouTube stream and then have a zap overlay accessible on zap stream instead of actually streaming on the zap stream servers? Thoughts, nostr:nprofile1qqsx8lnrrrw9skpulctgzruxm5y7rzlaw64tcf9qpqww9pt0xvzsfmgpr9mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumwdae8gtnnda3kjctv9uq35amnwvaz7tms09exzmtfvshxv6tpw34xze3wvdhk6tcpg3mhxw309aekk7n6dcmxx6tdvej8vdt9xfcxs6nrx3uhydtkxa5kkcncw3hr2e3hv34hwm34vvmhvdphw3j827nvvfhhxutdw9jzummwd9hkutcm77dqn?

Build it yourself nodeacademy.org

Node running locally connected to my free Voltage account which supports NIP-05 LNaddresses for receive. For sending I use Alby connected to my own node via LNC from lightning terminal. All zero command line stuff.

Nostr is great but you people still using custodians for the zap stuff need to stop being lazy.

Oh gotcha. Yeah I self run stable diffusion, voice mods, etc. It's fun. I'm a gamer too tho, but self hosted AI stuff is fun. I still think the visual stuff looks terrible and the LLMs are retarded tho.

I already have one. But why you say this?

Pick up heavy things. Put them back down. Repeat.

Big oil is orchestrating the obnoxious "just stop oil" vandalism with the goal of making the anti-oil people look bad. Great strategy imo. Be a hero. Idle your car.

Too long for me. I'm happy for you or I am sorry that happened.

The two worst things about #nostr are the AI art spam and the Twitter cross posting.

I mean...you can't build buildings on the surface?

If you haven't got all trophies in elden ring are you even a bitcoiner

happy father's day, fellow daddy-o's.

Nostr could replace internal company communication as long as every user was on just one single relay for that company. Slack alternatives seem possible. I wish I could program it.

theres something that just feels good about stacking sats no kyc on self hosted robosats to my own lightning node.
