Politics is bickering over the spoils of robbing you

Now you're talkin

On mastodon during twitter censorship events there would be a big inrush of people, and then it would subside.

I am noticing an inrush on nostr, probably due to the recent privacy rulings by despotic administrative states

Money printer go brrr

Bad for normal people, they will get poorer

Good for cantillionaires, they will get richer

But everything is good for bitcoin

This meme is often exaggerated but this one really is the SAME PICTURE

You can use both and see naturally which one starts to take more of your time. As you spend more time logged out of X, then the next time you log in, the algorithm will be way off, giving you random click bait, and you will have to start engaging with posts again to retune your feed.

Totally agree, and with hundreds of millions of posts, it's not going to know what particular one you wanted to revisit. However I would like to plug in an algorithm of my choosing and I would have my client remember every post it has ever showed me, like a "seen posts" list.

There isn't a way to know what all powers control the US government besides the corporations. But clearly there is a push by governments around the world to lock down their citizens and strip away their rights.

Yeah I think it is orchestrated showmanship. They (via the media) are drumming up the threat about China installing spyware in electronics (phones, cars, tiktok) sold to the US.

This is painting China as the bad guys to distract from the real threat posed by those controlling the US government who are changing (breaking) the laws that protect privacy and protection from unreasonable search and seizure.

Is US really having an economic cold war with China or is there something else at play

They are wrong though, because that's 4th amendment unreasonable search and seizure. They are violating the law of the land. They are illegitimate.

Beyond some ordinal garbage, I honestly don't see much infighting in the bitcoin space.

I do see heavy attempts at subversion though, and that's coming from the suits: mining centralization, Micheal Saylor, ETF's, and KYC companies posing as staunch bitcoiners

Pixel phone with GrapheneOS. Graphene does an incredible job of hardening stock android, and the pixel device has some of the best security too. Yes, hardware backdoors could conceivably exist on it.

That said, it is a plain fact that hardware backdoors absolutely do exist in all modern desktop Intel and AMD processors (and Apple desktop silicon), all raspberry pis, and a large percentage of networking equipment.

Yes it is important to know the intention behind every news agency, particularly the politically hateful, divisive and war mongering mainstream corporate media.

PSA: The Epoch Times is a far right extremist publication by the Falun Gong new religious movement (read that, alien cult) folks in China.

"A former Epoch Times reporter who covered the 2016 campaign, Steve Klett, said his editors had encouraged favorable coverage of Trump after he won the Republican nomination, and that "they seemed to have this almost messianic way of viewing Trump as the anti-Communist leader who would bring about the end of the Chinese Communist Party."

Any "take" they have will be extremely biased to their agenda.

"Elise Thomas of the Institute for Strategic Dialogue noted, "Falun Gong has a history of rejecting modern medicine, which obviously intersects neatly with the beliefs of many anti-vax communities." Ben Hurley said, "They've been anti-medicine for a long time. Ex-believers know many people that have died from treatable conditions.

It's their belief that they don't need medicine, because they're superhuman beings."

"Former Epoch Times employees have noted Falun Gong practitioners' involvement in the management and editorial process. Three anonymous former employees said Epoch Times workers were encouraged to attend weekly "Fa study" sessions outside work hours to study Li's teachings.

Former employees have said that criticizing The Epoch Times amounts to disobeying Li."

"Falun Gong is entirely based around the teachings of its autocratic founder and leader: China-born Li Hongzhi.

According to NBC News, to his followers, Li is "a God-like figure who can levitate, walk through walls and see into the future.

His ultra-conservative and controversial teachings include a rejection of modern science, art and medicine, and a denunciation of homosexuality, feminism and general worldliness."

Hongzhi instructs his followers to downplay his controversial teachings when speaking to outsiders."

They can still report news.

Not everybody wants their client talking to Google (or OpenAI etc) - it needs to at least have an off switch

Tell the CEO to increase the marketing spend, because that's what it takes

Huge distortions in housing due to the printing press. Not everybody can skirt that tyranny.
