i'm bullish Rust because the barrier to entry is so low. I didn't have a systems language until I started with Rust. I think it would have taken me much longer to write "safe" C/C++ compared to Rust. The Rust compiler is a lovely sensei slapping my hand away when I make a mistake.

You really need to look at a longer term than “always profitable”. The suggested $5/mo number is low enough that most ppl will not think twice. What you need to do is model the system and understand: 1) that most ppl will never use $5 of resources; and 2) where the crossover to profitable point is. Then plan accordingly. It is going to be hard to it with no risk for some period.

Tis true. The hard part here is deciding upon which model to implement for charging. Per note and event? Per MB? Packages and tiers? Lots to consider.
