So.. where do we stand on the Nostr marketplace? What's the latest over there?

Somehow it's already Sunday, and thus time for #SkepticismSundays 🤔

The goal of this thread (which I'll post weekly on Sunday's) is for discussing the uncertainties, shortcomings, and concerns some may have about Bitcoin.

NOT the positive aspects of it.

Discussing things with a critical thinking approach and level-headed discussion helps us learn where Bitcoin and it's community can improve and go from there. We had a *fantastic* amount of good conversations last week so I can't wait to see this week's!

With Schnorr Signature key aggregation, multi-sig outputs look exactly the same as single sig outputs on-chain.

Is it inevitable that Twitter has to integrate protocols like nostr? User interfaces and unique modulations of data are welcome. But doesn't it make sense to move toward and independence of servers with a protocol that allows a unique person's data to travel independently and secure in its own identity?

Anyone know if there is a fairly easy way to syndicate a social feed to Nostr? I would like to get reason’s feed on here, but I think doing it manually is going to be a no-go for now.

Over time, I think 2 things will (or should) happen if we want nostr to be scalable to user bases as large as Twitters and beyond.

1. Most relays will become either paid or ad-supported. For the latter, I know this is a big topic, but there are ways to do ad-supported without it turning into the garbage you see on social networks today. There will of course still be a smaller number of free volunteer relays, but those will probably be the minority.

2. As I love to rant about, a combination of NIP-65/Gossip on the content discovery side, and automatic selecting of relays to post to based on uptime + server load of known relays, in order to evenly distribute the load.
