I have even seen push sticks in the shape of a fish when I was working in commercial woodworking. They had fun with them.
The best push stick... is a used one!
Stainless steel… since we just ordered a first set about two hours ago from Heritage. 😁
Although, I will sear on my cast iron pan.
Who knew that when you replaced a 20 year old miter saw blade...
That it would cut much better!
I admit that for the past 20 or so years I have used the same blade in my mitersaw.
I have just replaced it with a new fine 80 tooth blade.
CUTS LIKE BUTTER!
Don't be like me...
If your blade is burning the wood when you cut it!
BUY A NEW BLADE...

What’s the most solid research out there to show that red meat 🥩 is safe to eat daily and not a harm to your health?
I hear this claim made but there are decades of research saying that it’s bad. I’d like to believe the claims and am ready to give carnivore diet a try but am getting resistance from loved ones because we have heart attacks in our family history.
Podcast interviews and YouTube videos aren’t enough. Links to studies super helpful.

With red meat the biggest complaint would be it will raises you cholesterol. That is about the only thing I have ever heard.
However, high LDL is associated with lower all cause mortality. Consequently, low LDL <70 is strongly associated with higher all cause mortality. Given the 2 positions in the following study. The safer bet would be to have high LDL cholesterol. (see figure 2)
Hence, eating red meat does not have any detrimental effect as far as the red herring of cholesterol.

Use a table saw? You need to make one of these...
and don't buy one!
It is a push stick to push wood thru the table saw blade, safely!
Without the fingers getting close.
Why do you need to make one?
Glad you asked, it is because you are going to run the push stick thru the blade sometimes while ripping thin slivers of wood (just like in the picture).
You don't want to a $20 push stick at the woodworking store just to end up cutting it and eventually needing to replace it.
They are easy to make from scrap wood and will save your fingers!

Happy 1/2ing day! Derek! It’s my first.
Where’s the nostr edit button?
Thank you very much for the great response to my note that called for people to submit their shop questions the other day.
I didn't know what to expect.
The questions submitted were fantastic!
I enjoyed answering them immensely and hope to make it a regular nostr thing.
So... here is my first installment of workshop Q and A. Once again thank you to all that participated!
