Empathy, it’s the ability to deeply understand the experience of another. This is wildly important, the insight it gives you is immense, and when people lack empathy they become sociopaths, and then they are incapable of empathy they are psychopaths.

But can someone have too much empathy? Kinda, not really. Empathy is, sort of, it's complicated, an emotion, and emotions are simply messengers, they give you insight into yourself and the world around you. Emotions are amazing messengers and poor decision makers.

Another common emotion is anger. Anger is very important, it warns you when your boundaries are being violated, it’s a defensive emotion. Anger is always something you need to listen to, but not what should be making your decisions. It’s our job, as mature adults, to gather the information that we get from emotions, consider it, and then make a thoughtful decision on how to act.

Unless an emotion is so intense that it cripples you, I wouldn’t say that someone has too much of an emotion, but, you need to be able to process your emotions and use them to inform your decisions rather than to lead your decisions.

If you ever feel like someone is watching, chances are someone IS watching you.

People are always trying to influence people, and sometimes without words. Framing, color, pricing, context - there are many ways to influence without saying much.

Sometimes that influence is passive - like a community of similar opinions.

I think it helps to be aware of these things to make informed decisions.

I'm debating if I fork over the $599 for a business account on Vimeo.com for another year. I am so sick and tired of having to finance cloud storage for my media company.

I like the feature set that Vimeo offers, my clients really liked the download options, but DANG, i'd rather be hit in the head with a shovel than pay this massive expense for another year.

It would only be a true backdoor I guess if they forced the update upon you.

Probably Bitkey. No seed phrase though, so there are trade offs.

My opinion on hardware wallets have changed. The hacks, leaks in customer data, if years later you want to use it you can have issues with firmware upgrades and you could have an unusable device.

I'm more for not using a device and generate a wallet offline, e. g. with the seed signer.

Cold Card MK4’s. There’s a learning curve but they’re going to eventually have to go through it anyway and these devices are awesome. No battery to worry about, very few components that can fail. Sure some people bitch about the fact that they’re not 100% open source but using them with a couple other models like the Blockstream Jade and a seed signer in a multisig you can’t go wrong.

Have you tested putting the image first and the text after, to see what works best on Nostr? I just note sometimes when you post a long caption Amethyst hides/paginates the photo and I have to click to expand the post in order to see it.
