Started sending out our new badge for nostr:npub16fcy8ynknssdv7s487nh4p2h4vr3aun64lpfea45d7h4sts9jheqevshgh Supporters. Will be sending out to plebs who support the project past and future. 🤙💜🫂

Cool to see more badges being issued lately. Such a fun idea.
Amethyst does do this. You have to go to settings and turn on auto load for images.
There is no logout button that I know of. If you don't have anything in cookies and site data it might be a good idea to reinstall, that's messed up. I use brave and that's how I've logged out.
Been wanting to get my ham licence for a while now. Should really get that done. Already know a few hams, unfortunately they meet in on a night where I'm busy with another group.
I've been looking into solutions for a city based pleb driven network that will cover a few km in case internet/phone services go down. Thanks. Looking forward to more posts.
When Nostr client with integrated nostr:npub1dx5q2el8nd4eh3eg9t2e25fd7zuqg7zxz6ldkc3uzgh66ss2yc6st288sj wallet?
This would be a great way to onboard to bitcoin and Nostr. You wouldn’t have to worry about using a custodial client that could rug people and it would allow you to continue educating and onboarding because it’s Nostr-based. If they don’t redeem the sats you can get them back, and when they’re ready they can move them to a non-custodial wallet. Thots?
It's so easy, a bot can do it. (The joke, for those who don't know, is that bots will instantly redeem any invoices that are posted publicly.)
Would be interesting to see a trial, but would public invoices ever be an option? Eventually the bots will be able to scan images and then that protection option will be gone.
I have limited experience with eNuts, but I have my Nostr contact list loaded into it and I can see DMs working for payments.
🤔 *whispers* I think I know where her bitcoins are hidden now. *whispers* 🤫
Yep, I often deal with poor data coverage when out of the city for work. This is where Primal's cached service works a little better. Maybe something like an option to only use a single relay in apps?
Also, data usage is off the hook overall in Nostr. Something needs to be done. Thankfully I have a big data plan, but it's crazy high usage and I have a moderate number of relays (15ish).
Welcome to Nostr, bot farm! :P
CBDC hell, coming soon.
Yeah I haven't heard that from his mouth either, unless it was something recent. At least getting rid of the central bank can be a start to cleaning up the monetry mess. Maybe the US dollar is just a stepping stone in a better direction, El Salvador went that way.
I don’t come to the #Nostr expecting anything, but if you wouldn’t mind boosting this note I’d appreciate it. 🙏
I’m one of the founders of nostr:npub1hxfkcs9gvtm49702rmwn2aeuvhkd2w6f0svm4sl84g8glhzx5u9srk5p6t, a community of noderunners on the Nostr, currently with over 340 member nodes and an active Telegram group, where we help new and experienced users connect, share knowledge, and expand the Lightning network together.
I started my journey into running a bitcoin and Lightning node in early 2021, when I was one of the first 100 members of Plebnet.
Built on a Raspberry Pi4 with 8 GB of ram, my current node, Dan on the Moon now runs 60 channels with a total capacity of nearly 175 million sats.
In early January, 2023, soon after joining the Nostr, I realized there was no organized group of noderunners, so I decided to start one along with a few other people. Within 3 months, we had reached 200 members, and are on track to double that by our one year anniversary.
Due to the current high-fee environment, my node hardware is struggling under the load. With no way to expand memory and disk space in the current configuration, it's due for an upgrade.
Because it runs Umbrel, I've decided the path of least resistance will be to purchase an Umbrel Home, which sells for $500 US, and ships with a migration assistant to seamlessly move all of the existing node data and channels.
In the future, I plan to also build a second node on custom-built components, but the current need is to keep this node stable and not end up in a situation where any of my channels get force-closed.
If I am able to raise the funds through Geyser, the node will be renamed "The Nodestrich" and will provide more stability for my channel peers, who have been some of the most supportive and helpful people I have met since I started my journey.
Thank you! 💜⚡️🫂
Another option on the pile (since migration can be done). Buy a refurbished Optiplex for under $200 and get great node (example: Intel i5, 16GB of ram and 500GB drive). Just throw in a 1 or 2 TB NVMe in as the data drive and you're set for a long time.
The main problem I've seen with primal.net is it doesn't know when you've done something new. I'm going to guess it's because of the cache system. Noticed it on desktop and mobile.
Often liking a note doesn't get confirmed by the system, but if you refresh the page then the like is shown. If a note is sent, sometimes says that it couldn't contact any of the relays or nothing happens. However, if I go to Amethyst or another client the note has been posted.
Strange things. Do you see these things happen often?
