A Sketch of a Tree in about an hour.

Same teacher, different webinar, than last time. This webinar is earlier than the first one I watched, and I prefer the later one; he had the process more refined and didn’t bother with a reference photo.

With a reference photo, I felt my tree didn’t turn out as well as the first one I drew without the reference photo, because even though the “from my imagination tree” didn’t really turnout as I imagined it, I liked it because there wasn’t anything concrete to compare it to - my “imagination tree” updated to match the sketch, while my reference tree just sat there not looking as much like the reference photo as it “should have” …. Which , unless the point of the exercise is to precisely copy the photo, doesn’t matter.

Definitely something to play with as I keep wandering along my sketching journey. 🖊️

I did for many years. I have no idea what it looks like now. When they changed from the simple text editor to that Gutenberg block-based editor I was ready to bail.

UX and UI seemed to degrade IMHO when everyone started catering to mobile instead of using the real estate desktop allowed.

I’ve done this for many years. When I started, I thought it would be easy: whatever I don’t like, think of the opposite because I must like that.

Not always true, and coming up with the words (or images) for what truly mattered to me sometimes took effort…. along with some quiet time to sit and think and feel without interruption to process whatever came up.

Maybe that’s why it’s so easy for some folks to talk so loudly about what they’re against. Because they don’t have (or won’t make) time for the quiet time needed to find out and understand what they love.

Both of my parents were born in Europe, so we visited relatives and traveled there when I was young. So fun to see photos from that part of the world.

First walk on the local mountain this afternoon. Saw a little buddy.

Disappointed how far I could not go with my foot. Checked my steps for yesterday and apparently walking from airport terminal to terminal adds up: 3.1 miles vs. I usually do a half, so that might also be why my foot aches today. 🙄
