It's obvious to me how Twitter would benefit by becoming decentralized and exit the censorship way of doing things, which is to give itself a chance to survive and thrive, because if they don't they will die on the vine. Thank you for your kind apology, and I forgive you. I don't begrudge you your opinion, and I respect it. I just don't agree, and that's okay. We can disagree and still honor one another. You're the one who asked for my perspective, so I gave it to you. If you think it doesn't make sense, flush it. I could be wrong. But my opinions and perspectives don't mean I don't belong here. Our conversation started with my assertion that Twitter should join Nostr before it's too late, so it doesn't behoove me to seek to understand your perspective while I'm providing evidence for mine, as you asked me to. I agree with you that Twitter is legacy tech. However, no matter how much company inertia, or any other company has going on, if they are headed in the wrong direction they can change. It may be unlikely, even highly unlikely, but it's not impossible, and that's my point. You're right that it's probably too late for Twitter, but until they close their doors they can make a change for the better. I feel sad that you feel like explaining your perspective in detail won't change mine. If you're willing to share your perspective, I would really appreciate it and would do my best to understand what you mean and where you're coming from because I'm sure you have insights I'm not privy to. Would you please share your perspective? If so, thank you! If not, I understand. Blessings!
Well, if you put in the effort, eventually it will or it won't. Either way, have fun on your journey.
You asked me what advantage I was referring to, so I did you the favor of explicating it despite your apparent inability to connect the dots, and you're still unable to connect the dots unfortunately. Furthermore, instead of seeking to understand the parts that you don't understand before passing judgement, you've taken my explication of the advantages Twitter would have by becoming a Nostr client as a signal of loyalty towards Twitter by saying, "Why are you even on Nostr?," which means you're implying that I don't belong here, in your opinion. Ironically, it's people like you who made Twitter culture tank, and are now bringing the same worldview here. I don't care which platform I use, as long as it works better than the other ones. I hope you find the humility to see things from a different perspective at some point.
Good question. As Jeff Booth has said, Nostr is built on Bitcoin as a base layer. So if Twitter integrates with Nostr as a client, and assuming they also integrate zaps and Lightning as well, then suddenly millions of users around the world have a much larger network of people to interact with and trade products and services and Bitcoin with. Since Twitter still has brand recognition, suddenly by becoming a Nostr client they are getting in on a protocol layer built on Bitcoin that is decentralized, which will motivate many people to not only stay on Twitter, but to build their platform, sales funnels, and monetization strategy on Nostr+Twitter instead of leaving for Damas, Amethyst, etc. Since Elon Musk builds companies which are intensely innovation focused, they would rapidly innovate Twitter as a Nostr client that could take advantage of their human resources in amazing ways, creating the app X that Elon has discussed, having been inspired by We Chat and such, that is intensely feature rich. In the long run, Twitter could dominate the social media decentralized market, while saving it's users who want to consider migrating to Nostr, but haven't materially made the move, to have their audience and Nostr in one place. It would be amazing. And they already have the engineers to make it happen.
1st Step for Getting What You Want/Need: Ask for it kindly, explicitly, directly, and specifically
2nd Step for Getting What You Want/Need: Become through training a man/woman who can obtain, maintain, and improve what or who it is you want/need when you get it.
If what you want is small, then it’s likely the practical path between where you are and obtaining what you want/need may not demand that you change in order to handle it well.
The larger what you want is, let’s say, gaining financial freedom or finding and being able to keep an amazing, intimate spouse, building a large company, or being able to assert your boundaries in your intimate and professional relationships, relative to what you and your life look like right now, the more likely (though not certainly) you will need to change in order to be able to obtain and maintain and improve what, and/or who, you want or need.
Also, be aware that as you proceed practically down the path towards what you want/need, what or who you want/need may change in your mind, heart, and/or imagination. Bear in mind, there is no such thing as wasted learning. So, in whatever way what or who you want/need changes, the lessons you’ve learned up to that point still add to the wisdom you will need to be able to steward well what you want/need when you get it.
I think Nostr was created as a decentralized social media solution to solve the centralized social media and censorship problem. However, I tend to take a practical optimists approach to things. BlockBuster, with appropriate humility, could have shut down all their stores when they saw Netflix coming, and gone full bore into an online streaming platform to save their business. It's unlikely for that scenario to play out, but not impossible. Clearly they chose poorly. Elon Musk and Twitter could, however improbable, see the writing on the wall concerning Nostr, and pivot to adapting Nostr's de-centralized social media protocol along with Lightning zaps and therefore save their business. They could do that, although I doubt they will. But however improbable that course of action is, it's possible. After all, even though many people hit rock bottom before they change, it's possible to choose to change before hitting rock bottom. Thanks for this interaction!
Absolutely, agreeing to disagree is good. I enjoy discussing points of disagreement with people.
Here's how to get whatever you want in life.
Kindly, courageously, directly, honestly, and specifically, ask for what you want.
If you ask for what you want and need, you can get it.
If you don't ask for what you want and need, you cannot get it.
So ask, then receive.
Your definition of fate is more akin to legacy. Fate is mutually exclusive from choice, so by definition, choice has no input into a person's legacy or life outcomes and leads to hopelessness, because it is deterministic by nature.
Destiny is hopeful because a person can opt into or out of it, and is aligned with purpose and meaning, and is the highest possible good, so perhaps you are referring to fate as some mix of destiny and legacy, although historical, they come from vastly different philosophical backgrounds and worldviews which leads to very different life and social outcomes.

The thing about building one's life on the rock of reality is that it stays the same even if the world is burning down around you.
Build your kingdom on the rock of reality if you want to win.

What is identity? A person's identity exists on two levels. One level of identity is who you think you are, and the other level of identity is who you really are.
Most people think that they are what other people think they are, what they own, or what they've done.
But the fundamental truth is that God created you before your parents conceived you. Therefore you are the will and design of God.
Therefore you are good and no one can change it.
Passive income is amazing.
I don't think so. It's early days still, and Twitter could integrate Nostr and zapping before Nostr hardens. They would still have a huge advantage becoming a Nostr client if they did it sooner rather than later.
Thank you Jeff for opening my eyes to more implications of Nostr and Bitcoin. You consistently bring your A-game and I appreciate it!
Bitcoin will cut out government from employer/employee negotiations, which will reduce the real minimum wage to zero, which will dramatically increase the amount of people who will get jobs early in life.
This will lead to large groups of these people gaining education on the job, which will lead to much higher wages later in their career, which will enable men and women to get married earlier, and enable the parents to be involved in their lives through the deflation of Bitcoin, and people's wages will gradually buy more and more until people will be able to buy a house with cash, without debt.
Bitcoin will drive many people into financial and relational freedom, and no one can stop it.
The future of Bitcoin mining is bringing power production in house. How efficient miners are doesn't matter as much as lowering the kwh price to .00, relative to buying power from the state. Let's pool our funds and buy a hydro power dam, or build a nuclear power plant.
Twitter needs to become a Nostr client before it's too late.
When the price of Bitcoin goes down, relative to the dollar, that could be the time to get excited because Bitcoin is on sale!
One way to resolve conflict with another person is to ask yourself, "Is there anything about me I can change in this situation?"
If you make resistance with another person your ally, it will teach you what you can improve about yourself, and that improvement will then improve not only you, but all your relationships.
