I can understand people not abandoning traditional social networks where they’ve made big investments of time & energy to build an audience…

BUT I cannot understand refusing to invest ANY time and energy into a protocol that can’t be shut down.

It’s like buying a huge, expensive house, filling it with your favorite things, then putting candles in every room, but refusing to add a smoke detector or buy insurance. You’re just begging to lose everything.

Any investment made into a centralized service, ESPECIALLY one that is known for censoring people and shutting down accounts for no reason, should at MINIMUM require an equal investment into a decentralized alternative.

If everyone who was aware of the problem did this, #Nostr wins.

I have such a deep desire to find a way to completely fuck up their data sets and make them useless by feeding them tons of dummy data.

We need a Gandalf prequel where he is just a middle aged man starting to age, where he is known as Gandalf the Salt and Peppery, and the entire book is about smoking his pipe and lighting off fireworks.

Nostr's usage and growth among active users of the protocol continues to grow, however overall active users are still fairly low. Clearly our core community loves Nostr and understands it's importance. We are all bullish. That said, we need a breakout moment or event if we want to continue to #grownostr outside of the Bitcoin community.

We can to recruit streamers to try zap.stream to see it's potential to get paid for their content.

We can recruit bloggers to use habla.news and highlighter.com to have their voices heard without censorship.

I still feel we need a good Instagram and TikTok alternative to recruit from those audiences.
