Last night I messed up and hung out with some friends who are Democrats who spent half the night bitching and having a pity party. It took all my effort to not point at them and shout that they did it this themselves by spending the past decades supporting a bunch of sociopaths who obviously don't care about anything other than themselves and power. If "the party of the working class" isn't broadly supported by the working class, then I don't know what it is other than full of shit. But I didn't say any of this, but I will, just not at a time when it's so easy for them to dismiss me in a pouty huff 😁

With a response like that, you're going to get to have so much fun rubbing it in their faces 😁

Now I'm just imagining myself watching an edit with a bit too much glee, my wife asking what I'm doing, and me just shouting "porn, don't look!" 😂 We see eye to eye on a lot of stuff, but not everything 🤣

I'm honestly wonder if she learned anything or gained any insights, or if she's just making excuses and blaming all of the garbage people 🤣

I also wonder if it's crossed her mind to apologize to the cashier that she was so smug to 😂

Reminded of the time that, a friend of a friend, a political analyst who's done work for the DNC, super smugly said she could look at the polling data and know who's going to win any election, for any district. I didn't laugh in her face in the name of not making the night weird and awkward, but... 😂

I won't be surprised if I could fix it by reinstalling, but I come hear to laugh at jokes that my wife would roll her eyes at and neighbors would castigate me for liking, not to deal with those n-thingies 😂

Listening to devs is like listening to communists, "just a bit of effort up front and we'll unleash a magical new world". I'll believe it when I see it 😂

That said, I appreciate the fact that devs don't simply want to kill everyone who isn't sufficiently supportive of their visions and dreams.

A lot of people get pretty dogmatic about this stuff, don't assume that someone else's "one size fits all" suggestion will work for you, but it seems hard to be THAT physically and mentally healthy without sufficient sleep, supportive meat space friendships/relationships, varied and abundant exercise, a diet that any more than flirts with the center of the supermarket, and a passion that gives you direction.

Also, some people have underlying conditions that won't allow them to feel good even when seemingly doing all the right things.

I wonder how my wife's going to respond when she finds out that we're all getting girlfriends.

While I think you're right, I also think it's dangerous to loose sight of the degree to which many normal Americans believe that Democratic leadership doesn't respect or care about them.

Both based on what I hear talking heads, and friends/neighbors/coworkers say, I get the impression that many well educated Dems, and Dem leadership want a technocracy, and as long as that's the case, I expected them to be weak against an "every man" populist.

As someone who doesn't think that either side even flirts with the grand ideals that they lay out and speak of, I fear that a lot of Dems will mistake a symptom for the ailment, and a bandaid for the cure.

Personally, I don't have autism, there are one or two diagnostic symptoms which I don't have, but I am exceptionally dyslexic. A point of pride is that through highschool and college, while I started a few, I never finished a reading assignment and yet did better than most. I have zero complaints with where I've ended up, I'm an engineer who's worked on a ton of awesome stuff, but I do occasionally wonder how things would have played out if my reading comprehension was even just average, if text-to-speech engines existed when I was in school, or if I hadn't been taught by so many people that I was stupid.

His arguments would have been more compelling if I didn't have so much first hand experience with the clusterfucks known as blue team strongholds.

Personally, I'd cut it so fast in the name of making time for civics or anything that revolves around teaching more critical thinking and or problem solving. On the other hand, if I would had to either cut and writing or drag queen story hour, gender studies, or or any number of progressive things, I know what I do 😁

Mine crashes when I try to look at my notifications, and while this isn't new, I can't post. When I hit the post button it just hangs, with the text gregreyed out, and then it seems to time out and I can interact with it again but it hasn't posted.

There are exceptions to every rule, and I tend to be a big fan of civility, but to me, treating others better than they treat you, or third parties, sounds and awful lot like treating others better than they deserve to be treated.
