there is a real possibility that the US, the 'land of the free' is one of the few States with the capabilities to sustainably suppress btc within its own borders, and that it will never really flourish in the US in my lifetime. its combo of orwellian surveillance and financial dragnet, mature multi-party propoganda and people completely reliant on digital tech to survive will make it potentially one of the last places on earth where it truly flourishes.

Reasons to use podverse over fountain:
1. can directly connect to alby wallet, so you can send sats directly from your node if you have configured your node with alby instead of using fountains custodial process ( boosts or streamed per minute). if the podcaster has their own node set up, now your sending v4v directly p2p ๐
2. can listen to downloaded podcasts offline, fountain has many bugs, and one seems to be unable to play downloaded items when not on the internet.
3. open source so can be used with f droid or obtainium
4. no social graph stuff, which i personally dont like how heavy it is within fountain as my social graph is here, dont need another in my podcast listener.
