It’s hard to not let some things get you down.
Sometimes, as hard as you might try, things won’t go your way.
An actual example of something that happened to me today:
Followed up with a client and was told they had gone a different route.
Would have been a significant job and went through some effort over the past two weeks to visit site, follow-up, submit estimates, provide samples, etc.
Client was ready to pull the trigger but I couldn’t deliver within their timeframe (next day).
Client was noticeably bothered and went elsewhere. I tried to salvage the situation but at the end it didn’t work out and got confirmation this AM.
Not going to lie, it bothers me and I get in my own head about what I could have done differently.
Sometimes things don’t go your way. It’s okay to get frustrated and be bummed out for a bit but you can’t let it ruin your day.
What helps me is thinking about all the positive things I have and other projects I’m working.
I force myself the best I can out of that state. Music helps, calling a friend or family member that cheers you ups, play a game, listen to comedy, writing, anything to get you out of the negative mindset.
That’s what I’m doing now, writing this to help others and future me get over the gloom.

Confederate dollars were first issued in 1861 and became worthless at the end of the Civil War 4 years later.
Confederate money was not backed by hard assets like gold or silver. Instead, it was largely backed by the promise of future payment based on the anticipated success of the Confederacy in the Civil War. So basically fiat.
Now just worth whatever collectible value you can get for them on eBay.

Any Cuban restaurant has steak aka “palomilla” or “bistec” or “pollo a la plancha” (grilled chicken breast).
There are lots of Nicaraguan places called Fritangas that have “carne asada”, they should also have chicken.
There are also Chicken Kitchen’s and Pollo Tropical’s that have grilled chicken.
You can always go to a more corporate spot like Outback and order steak/chicken/pork/shrimp, etc.
Key is asking the server, maybe tell them you have allergies to seeds or something lol
Older folks with some real estate in their portfolio and stocks in their Roth mainly. Great to see them exploring options honestly, it was a fun conversation going back and forth.

Tough one regardless, you can ask to replace any oils with butter. Or just stick to meat only and ask to be cooked with butter. Or if just a quick fix, get the burger patties at Wendy’s. They sell them for $1.29/ea or so.
That’s what I’ve been doing.
Went to get a haircut earlier and unexpectedly #bitcoin was brought up, almost everyone said they were “afraid” of it.
I was asked about it and not wanting to go to deep, I just replied with:
“I don’t think anyone should be afraid of it, you just need to take some time to learn about it…
I think the best way to think of Bitcoin is like it’s the best savings account.
Put your money in, hold for the long-term, let it grow, and only dip into it if you really need it.”
That seemed to catch their attention. After some brief back and forth it actually looked like they understood. Older audience by the way, mostly 60+ there today.
