I’m not sure. My feeling is that governments don’t see central banks as a negative. They see it as the only way of controlling their own currency. And monetary policy. As long as sovereign fiat currency is around central banks will remain to control it.

You’re absolutely right. I only just got it once you’d mentioned it. The only way to combat the ETF (as the only on ramp) is to keep the peer to peer functionality alive. That means buying and spending Bitcoin. This would become much easier if we insist on earning in Bitcoin.

True. The problem is if your state is not controlling it.

Yes. Exactly. We need something that can stand up to the bribery and blackmail. Something without a single point of failure. Something that’s not controllable from the outset and accept all the problems that come with that.

I know about lightning and know it’s pretty easy to use but I don’t want to spend my Bitcoin. & I think I’m in the majority. So bitcoin as currency is probably still some way off.

This is a nice sentiment but not realistic.

Every single country in the world has a central bank cos that’s the only way they can control their currency. No Govt in their right minds is going to let go of that. For the foreseeable future we live in a world of central banks. Individuals can opt out of the system with BTC but not governments. We’ve got to work in this framework.

1. I am a bit drunk

2 I’m absolutely fed up with twitter. It’s not reflecting my opinion. Is it because my opinion is shit (I think what’s happening in Palestine is the definition of evil and anyone who supports it is outright supporting genocide and I frankly think they’re psychopaths) or is my opinion is the majority but being censored?

3 either way I think I’m right

4 nostr if it’s truly decentralised and censorship resistant is a welcome change.

5 BUT are we just creating little pockets of minority opinion which will become amplified in an echo chamber of their peers?

5 if we are, is that a bad thing?

6 I don’t know BUT i do think all opioin needs to be expressed. What may be unacceptable now may become acceptable later and if these unacceptable options aren’t expressed they die and we all suffer in the long term.

Sorry sorry. My fault. I’m actually gen-x. I got confused. I thought zoomers was gen-x. As an Xer I feel also very nihilistic. I’ve lost faith in all systems and governments. I’m not an anarchist but I just think government as a concept is incentivised to become corrupt and I just want an off-ramp which is where Bitcoin comes in. I’m just going to sit down earn fiat and put it into bitcoin and watch everything come crumbling down around me. If someone steps up and sort things out I’ll appreciate it but I’m not getting involved.

12. At some point in your life you’re going to have to stand alone. Don’t be afraid. If you’re certain. Stand. No one else is certain either. Soon you might find others standing with you.

11. Never shake hands sitting down. It’s disrespectful to the person you’re shaking hands with but more importantly it puts you in a position of weakness.
