Not so much related, but I wanted to tell you that leaving this online-dopamine-hit cycle was the best thing I did for my health. I deleted all my social media accounts back in 2019, except for twitter.

This year I made the decision to actually remove myself from twitter because I noticed how enraged certain posts from my feed would make me feel.

Little by little, I was projecting that rage onto the real world. I realized I no longer wanted the online world to interfere with my physical reality.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that no matter the opinion (positive or negative), the amplification of it, will eventually warp our sense of reality.

After the first few months of being completely cut off from social media, I started noticing more the kindness in the world. I also noticed how comfortable I became with boredom.

Regardless, this is not related to your op, but I wanted to share what worked for me and hopefully will work for you.

Armchair communists (which are the only kind presumably given that anyone that has lived through it seems to have nothing but bad things to say) don't realise that we don't have free market capitalism as long as central banks exist. It's more like comminism with extra steps. They don't realise that they are attacking a system that more closely resembles the very thing that they are advocating for.

Exactly. They are incentivised to take the same direction as they did with gold.

We need to be there to spend says for goods and services once the masses wake up.

I actually think it's possible to time the cycle top.

But there are two problems even if you can:

1. You won't want to put as much in at the next market low.

2. Your government may not let you put as much in at the next market low.

Keep in mind that major Aussie banks for example, now have limits of $10k / month into anything crypto.

That means it would take about 9 months to buy 1 bitcoin at current prices.

Probably just as stressful as just riding the wave down.

How sure are you that your government won't implement similar restrictions?

How sure are you that you could put as much back in anyway?

I think the social network was the most emotionally resonant movie for a certain cohort of young ambitious millennial males.

Whereas wolf of Wall Street was the most resonant for the same category of zoomers.

The message you got watching social network was basically this… the boomers are old and stupid and clueless and we can take over from them. Their empires are houses of cards and all we have to do is start pulling the cards out. We’ll build our own digital empires in their place. Will they be better than the boomers? Don’t know, don’t care. But we’re going to get rich and powerful doing it.

The message of Wolf of Wall Street is fuck everyone and everything. Nothing matters. The world is fucked. The only way to get ahead is to lie, cheat and steal. It doesn’t matter anyway. The only thing that matters is what you can get away with. Penny stocks, shitcoins, meme tokens, monkey pics whatever… let’s get our hands on it and find the next sucker dumb enough to buy it. We live in the moment. Fuck tomorrow.

pessimism vs nihilism

American presidential terms are 4 years and now we're spending 2 of those years worrying about the next election.

During those 2 years we spend $17 billion and drive half the country into frothing madness, but thanks to the electoral college it always comes down to the same 50,000 voters in the same three states.

Sometimes people ask me, “what if American bans bitcoin like they did for gold?”

1) That’s why it’s useful to engage politically. To prevent that draconian tail risk. And it’s working. Prevent any sort of anti-Bitcoin supermajority.

2) America had a supermajority in Congress when they did that for gold. They could override every check on power. That’s uncommon. We became highly collectivist for a period of time.

3) America literally put Japanese Americans in camps back then. But not German Americans. Because we were outright racist. And this was all pre civil rights for Black Americans too. Terrible.

4) This was all pre-internet. Centralized media. Few memes. The slow speed of communication was relevant.

The meme-work makes the dream work.

Can you imagine what it was like to buy Bitcoin for 1 dollar?

No? Neither can I.

I was totally focused on other things and too clueless at the time to understand why Bitcoin would later become valuable.

But now, I can take advantage of NOSTR before it gains widespread recognition and usage.

So that when the time comes, I can benefit from all the value that will manifest on NOSTR.

And yes, I’ll definitely show this message as proof that I was onto something and smart enough to act on it this time. Also, to show that nobody cared back then, haha (with zero likes as evidence, of course 🤣👏🏼🤣)
